Nice uppercut lands for Rood. That snapped Samoan's head back.
A solid leg kick lands there for Rood.
Rood lands a nice shot that snaps Samoan's head back.
Rood scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Samoan doesn't seem bothered though.
Samoan takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Rood uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rood scores with a head kick.
Rood shoots in and bounces Samoan off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Samoan is looking to stand back up but Rood counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Samoan.
Rood working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Samoan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rood on the ground.
Rood trying to control the action but Samoan is working from the bottom.
Rood lands strikes from half guard.
Samoan is looking for a sweep. Rood is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Rood is trying for a kimura here. Samoan looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Rood wins by kimura!
