The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardy lands a jab.

Hardy drops Gordo with a beautiful combination! Gordo stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Hardy is looking for the KO!

This has been an exciting period of action!
Gordo tries to clinch up but Hardy circles away and keeps his distance.
Hardy shoots in and drives through. Gordo sprawls well.
Gordo shoots in but no luck this time.
Hardy connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Hardy misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hardy will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hardy throws a nice looking combination but Gordo bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Paul Hardy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hardy thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Gordo if he has to take too many more of those.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
