The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mir fails in his attempt to clinch. Hutchins scores a takedown into full mount! Hutchins wants to control the pace but Mir is squirming around nicely. Hutchins looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Mir is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Mir is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Mir is trying to stand up. Mir is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. That's four minutes gone in the round. Hutchins is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Hutchins controls Mir momentarily but Mir frees himself. Hutchins working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mir doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mir manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Mir gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Hutchins feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Hutchins passes Mir's left leg - he's now in half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mir wants to get back to full guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mir is trying to stand up here but Hutchins is controlling him well. Harper tries for a takedown but Smygare sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Smygare doesn't manage to clinch there - Harper circles away.

Wilkins scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
It looks like George Steele has been cut. Wilkins throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Some wild striking there from Wilkins.
Wilkins throws a lazy right hand but Steele sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Steele throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Wilkins counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Steele thinking. Wilkins avoids the head kick by Steele.
Wilkins walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. George Steele seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Steele rushes Wilkins and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. A shot in the inside from Wilkins. Wilkins is trying to break free. Wilkins manages to break the clinch.
Steele looks to clinch and Wilkins connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Wilkins fails in his attempt to clinch. Steele swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Mayhew misses with a takedown attempt - Pace sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Mayhew shoots in but Pace avoids the takedown attempt easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Peter Mayhew. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pace misses with a series of wild punches.
Mayhew closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Mayhew moves into full mount! Mayhew is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Pace can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Pace closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Mayhew has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pace is working away from the top position though. Pace content to control rather than advance. Mayhew is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Pace's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Pace's back! Mayhew is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
