The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Radno fails in his attempt to clinch. Liner shoots in and bounces Radno off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Liner stands up over Radno, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Liner accidentally thumps the mat. Liner has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Radno to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No joy there for Jonesy, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Jonesy displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Diniz. Diniz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jonesy tries to avoid it but Diniz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jonesy to the ground. Jonesy escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Nice takedown defense from Jonesy. No joy for Diniz on that attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vitor Diniz. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jonesy throws a right hand that Diniz ducks under and follows up with a left that Diniz also avoids with ease. Diniz avoids a kick to the body.

Diniz is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Diniz hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A punch lands to the side of Mancao 's head but he takes it in his stride. Mancao fails with a takedown attempt. McWeeder tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Mancao stuffs the takedown attempt from McWeeder. McWeeder gets slowly back to his feet. Mancao looks to clinch and Mancao takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. McWeeder buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
McWeeder looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mancao is fending him off so far but McWeeder persists. Nope, Mancao circles away and we're back to standing. McWeeder connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Mancao's hands. Mancao shoots in but no luck this time. Mancao cracks the inside of McWeeder's front leg. McWeeder connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. This has been an exciting period of action! McWeeder changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mancao tries to avoid it but McWeeder manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mancao to the ground. Mancao escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. McWeeder shoots for a takedown but Mancao saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Mancao gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows McWeeder to score an easy takedown into full guard. McWeeder postures up in Mancao's guard and throws a big left but Mancao blocks it. Mancao had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. McWeeder defends it easily. Mancao is breathing heavily. Mancao has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but McWeeder can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

McWeeder throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Mancao on the side of the head. McWeeder looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Mancao clinches but McWeeder breaks the clinch enabling McWeeder to counter with a crisp jab. Mancao shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says McWeeder as he avoids it easily. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Mancao. McWeeder shrugs it off though. Mancao tries for a takedown but McWeeder circles away easily and McWeeder counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. McWeeder throws a low kick, looking for Mancao's leg but Mancao calmly moves out of range.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mancao wants to clinch and McWeeder counters with a nice double leg into guard. McWeeder thows a big elbow that misses. McWeeder working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Mancao is trying to keep McWeeder in close.

Mancao turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. A decent looking cross lands there for McWeeder. McWeeder is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Mancao had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Mancao takes one on the button. Mancao shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Mancao throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around McWeeder's waist but McWeeder gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mancao off to one side. Mancao is looking to score with low kicks. McWeeder looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. McWeeder lands with a nice body kick. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. McWeeder misses with a few strikes there.

McWeeder with a flurry of punches that miss. McWeeder missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. McWeeder throws and elbow that misses. Mancao uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in McWeeder's guard. Nice move by Mancao! Mancao passes easily into side control. Nice work. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mancao working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

Let's see if McWeeder can do anything to dispel that myth. McWeeder blocking the ground and pound attempt from Mancao. Mancao is trying to control. McWeeder wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. McWeeder is trying to stand up here but Mancao is controlling him well. McWeeder is staying active underneath Mancao, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Mancao not landing any meaningful shots this time.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Mancao walks into a left hand. McWeeder shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mancao pinned against the cage. Mancao gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. McWeeder circles away from the clinch attempt and McWeeder counters with a nice uppercut. Mancao misses with a series of wild punches.

He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. McWeeder throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from McWeeder lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Mancao has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Mancao and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by McWeeder!

A low kick from McWeeder misses and Mancao counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in McWeeder's guard now. McWeeder is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mancao defends well. Mancao trying to control the position from guard on top but McWeeder is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mancao is really struggling to control McWeeder but he's trying to hold on to the position. Mancao looking to sit in guard and control but McWeeder gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Mancao scores with a nice shot. McWeeder postures up in Mancao's guard and throws a big left but Mancao blocks it. Mancao controls McWeeder momentarily but McWeeder frees himself. Aldieboy Mancao has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. McWeeder blocks a head kick by Mancao.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Aldieboy Mancao. Well McWeeder has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Guy pulls Jones in to control the position. Guy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Henoi on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. JF Kennedy is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. A telegraphed right hand from Kennedy misses the target. Henoi slips a jab from Kennedy.

Kennedy is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Kennedy flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Henoi anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Kennedy and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Henoi slips an arm under Kennedy chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Henoi has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Henoi is squeezing on Kennedy like an anaconda would it's prey. Kennedy fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
