Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nathan Purcell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Antonio Jennings! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Eddie Farnsworth and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight moves into the clinch position. Purcell looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Jennings fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Jennings throws a punch but it's blocked by Purcell. Jennings is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Purcell gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Jennings jumps guard and drags Purcell to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Jennings is looking to stand up but Purcell isn't so interested in that idea. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jennings is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Jennings throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Jennings has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Jennings looking for a sweep. Not yet Jennings, not yet. Jennings throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Jennings wants to sweep here but Purcell controlling him for the moment. Jennings is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Purcell is controlling him. Jennings is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Jennings wants to stand and escape but Purcell is having none of it.

Purcell defending well though. Jennings lands with a punch from half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Jennings not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Jennings throwing shots but Purcell is blocking nicely. Jennings is nestled in close to Purcell, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Jennings passes to side control. Jennings lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Purcell is trying to control Jennings's posture but Jennings avoids it. Jennings works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Antonio Jennings showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round!
Jennings closes the distance and clinches up with Purcell, looking for a takedown. Jennings pushes Purcell against the cage but Purcell circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Purcell leaves Jennings with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. A head kick from Purcell lands but Jennings takes it in his stride. Jennings drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Jennings trying to control but Purcell is working from the bottom. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jennings accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Jennings is looking to work some ground and pound but Purcell has wrist control. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Jennings stands up over Purcell, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Jennings trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Purcell keeping moving, preventing Jennings from controlling successfully. Jennings postures up in Purcell's guard and throws a big left but Purcell blocks it. Purcell avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

The ground and pound from Jennings seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Jennings creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Purcell sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Jennings landing strikes. Jennings is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Purcell is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Jennings cracks Purcell with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Jennings scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Purcell to see if he's OK. Purcell parries the strikes from Jennings easily there. Jennings is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Purcell to escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Jennings thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Purcell's head. Purcell is not content to let Jennings control the position. Jennings throws a strike but Purcell avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Jennings connects with a couple of short punches. Nathan Purcell has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Purcell working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Jennings. Purcell is trying to control the position but Jennings postures up. Antonio Jennings is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Purcell is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Jennings is aware though and is defending well.
And that's the end of the fight! Antonio Jennings comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Jennings winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Phillips lands a jab-cross combination.
It looks like Shane Lesnar has been cut. Lesnar looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Phillips throws a leg kick but Lesnar sees it coming and checks it nicely. Phillips throws a head kick that misses. Phillips fails with a takedown attempt. Phillips misses with a head kick.
Lesnar displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Phillips. The fight stays on the outside here - Phillips looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Phillips looks to land a body kick but Lesnar moved away. Phillips lands a left and a right that sends Lesnar crashing to the canvas! Phillips dives into mount looking to finish! We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Phillips looking to control but Lesnar is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Phillips dominating with strikes here. Phillips with the ground and pound from mount.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Dawn shoots in for a takedown but James shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. James scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Dawn doesn't seem bothered though. James lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Dawn backs up against the cage.

James moves out of range as Dawn strikes. Dawn fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. James works over Dawn's head and body with a nice combination. James connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. James stuffs the takedown attempt from Dawn. Dawn gets slowly back to his feet.

On like donkey kong! Dawn shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. James scores to the head and body with a nice combination! No luck with that takedown attempt from Dawn. Dawn is trying hard to land a takedown here. James sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Dawn slips a jab and a cross from James.

Fresenius James is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Dawn misses with a takedown attempt - James sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Dawn takes one on the button. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! James gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Red Dawn has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Dawn pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stanford sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks Momin to the ground! Stanford dives into full mount looking to finish!
It looks like Razin Momin has been cut. Stanford tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment. Momin is trying to escape the mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Momin regains half guard. Stanford wants to get back to his feet.
Momin is refusing to be controlled, as Stanford sits in half guard. Stanford really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Momin tries to roll over but Stanford keeps him under control. Momin is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Stanford's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Stanford's back! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Momin is striking from the back but Stanford escapes and manages to recover to half guard. Stanford is trying to stand.

Momin seems to have recovered his senses. Momin is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Stanford off and has taken his back!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Momin lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

Tiernan throws a right hand that Mulligan ducks under and follows up with a left that Mulligan also avoids with ease. Mulligan is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Tiernan tries to close the distance and clinch but Mulligan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Dave Tiernan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mulligan throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Tiernan. Tiernan tries to clinch up. Mulligan lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Mulligan feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Tiernan's calf. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Tiernan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Dave Tiernan has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Mulligan with a lazy takedown attempt and Tiernan counters with a leg kick.
And that's the end of the fight! Dave Tiernan showed his dominance in that final round. Well Mulligan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. Nobriga sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Tanner lets loose with a powerful body kick. Nobriga will feel that in the morning. Nobriga tries to keep at a distance but Tanner has taken the fight into the clinch. Tanner lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Nobriga backwards. Tanner breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Tanner scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Tanner goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Nobriga is rocked! Tanner connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Nobriga! He's out on his feet! Tanner rushes in and drops Nobriga with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Meier shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Meier was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Steele really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Steele tries to hold on but Meier pushes him away. Steele wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Meier.
Steele is looking to improve his position but Meier isn't that keen on the idea. Steele is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
