Undercard bout

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Manson Wright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Edward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Wright might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The Distillers - Drain the Blood. Ryan Edward will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Manson Wright!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryan Edward!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edward's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Edward duly obliges.
Wright swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Edward misses with a wild combination.

Wright gets a takedown into half guard.
Wright not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Edward won't allow Wright to pass to mount.
Wright trying to control the action but Edward is working from the bottom.

Wright wants to work for an arm triangle but Edward is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The fighters are battling for position here. Edward manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Edward is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Edward is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Edward is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Ryan Edward comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Edward has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
