The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Aoki has closed the distance and engaged Ken in a clinch.

Ken escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Aoki gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Aoki has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Ken to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Aoki is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Ken pulls down on the head and he's put Aoki to sleep! This one is all over!

Honda fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Honda feints and as Echano raises his hands in defense, Honda changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Honda forces his way into half guard.
Honda uses his free foot to push down on Echano's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Echano.

Honda moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Echano has worked his arm free - good work by Echano!

Honda is working to tighten is grip on Echano's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Echano has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Honda is really squeezing tight and eventually Echano passes out! Honda breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
