The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kakko drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Kakko tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kakko has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Suzuki is trying to improve his position.

Kakko working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Suzuki is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Kakko can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Kakko postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Suzuki is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kakko, into his guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Butch Gorn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bochamp Smathers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gorn comes to the cage accompanied by Mad World. Bochamp Smathers struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 267.0lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Bochamp Smathers will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.
