0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Julio Romerio! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Newman ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Romerio moves away. Romerio fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Newman avoids it really well and circles away. Romerio uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Newman. Newman scores with the left hand. Romerio knows he should have avoided that one. Romerio takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Newman throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Martin Newman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Romerio looks gassed! Newman scores with a takedown into Romerio's guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Newman thows a big elbow that misses. Newman sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Romerio's guard. Newman thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Romerio's head. Newman is nestled in close to Romerio, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Romerio blocking the ground and pound attempt from Newman. Romerio tries to roll over but Newman keeps him under control. Newman is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Newman looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Romerio with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Newman tries to hold on but Romerio pushes him away. Romerio can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Newman is looking to escape. Romerio takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Martin Newman. Well Newman has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Rex escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Giovanni gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Giovanni preventing the sweep. Rex utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Giovanni tries to free his leg and advance position but Rex is retaining full guard. Rex is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Rex bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Giovanni's guard. Rex throwing strikes but missing. Giovanni utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Giovanni manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Rex lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Giovanni! Giovanni is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Ronny Giovanni showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Rex drives through with a takedown into guard. Rex scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Giovanni is trying to control the position but Rex postures up. Rex has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Rex postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Giovanni trying to control the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Rex shoots and misses and Giovanni counters with a nice double leg into guard. Giovanni drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Giovanni jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Rex keeping moving, preventing Giovanni from controlling successfully. Giovanni got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rex has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Giovanni has managed to get both his arms back between Rex's legs - danger averted.
And that's the end of the fight! Ronny Giovanni comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Giovanni has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Park throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent McKenzie stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Nice shot by Park. Jab by Park. Danga de danga de dang - Park scores with a four punch combination!
McKenzie is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! McKenzie looks up at the clock. Bad move! Park lands a right hand from hell, dropping McKenzie. Park pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Couture is looking to clinch. Ryu Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. No luck for Silva with that takedown attempt. Silva changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Couture looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Silva wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Couture, who protects the arm well. Couture might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Couture wants to control but Silva postures up. Couture is looking to regain half guard here but Silva keeps moving and retains side control. Silva looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. It's a sloppy attempt though and Couture jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Couture preventing the sweep. Silva looking to control.

Silva looking to hit a scissor sweep but Couture is one step ahead there. Silva keeping full guard, as Couture tries to pass. Silva doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Waters gets the takedown into side control. Waters wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hughes keeps working.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Waters misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kashkin steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Hunter. Hunter is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kashkin. Hunter circles away from the clinch attempt.

It looks like Vladislav Kashkin has been cut. Hunter ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Hunter cracks a nice hook into Kashkin's ribs. Kashkin needs to keep his hands up - Hunter had a free shot at his head there. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kashkin wants to clinch up but Hunter keeps it at a distance. Hunter listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Hunter throws a good cross that connects.
Hunter is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Hunter tries to keep at a distance but Kashkin has taken the fight into the clinch. Hunter is trying to break the clinch but Kashkin is controlling him. Hunter tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kashkin just stands there and leans against the cage. Hunter tries to pull guard but Kashkin holds him up against the cage and eventually Hunter drops back down to his feet.

Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kashkin walks away with a smile on his face. Hunter gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shane Hunter. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hunter scores with the left hand. Kashkin knows he should have avoided that one.
Kashkin is rocked! Hunter finds Kashkin's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Kashkin flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Hunter lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Kashkin will be OK.
