Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Don Cherry! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dexter Korgen! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Gregory Folan and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Korgen leaves Cherry with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Korgen lands a jab. Korgen looks to land a combination but Cherry avoids it well. Cherry fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Korgen slips a jab and a cross from Cherry.
Korgen swings for the body but Cherry moves out of range.
Korgen swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Korgen connects with a good right hand that stumbles Cherry. Cherry circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Korgen swinging wilding here.
Korgen lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Cherry throws a head kick but Korgen moves out of range.

Korgen tries to bum rush Cherry with a series of wild strikes but Cherry uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Korgen throws a lazy right hand but Cherry sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. A right-left combo lands from Korgen. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cherry moves out of range as Korgen strikes. Korgen looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Korgen avoids the head kick by Cherry.

He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. Korgen throws a wild combination but nothing lands. It's a sloppy attempt though and Cherry jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Korgen keeping moving, preventing Cherry from controlling successfully. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Cherry seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dexter Korgen dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Cherry walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Cherry uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Korgen. Cherry tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Korgen was well out of range. Poor timing from Cherry. Cherry gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Korgen just misses with a punch to the body.

Cherry shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Korgen pinned against the cage. Korgen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Cherry bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Korgen avoids the body shot from Cherry.
Cherry has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Korgen finds it's way round the side to connect with Cherry's head. Korgen throws a right and a left that Cherry avoids nicely. Cherry slips a jab from Korgen. Dexter Korgen seems to be getting the better of the standup. Korgen avoids the head kick by Cherry.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Doomsday swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Groucho throws a low kick but Doomsday avoids it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Doomsday throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Doomsday trying to control but Groucho is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Doomsday takes a swing at Groucho's ribcage but misses.
