The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Penn, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Penn closes the distance and lands a one-two.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

That was a close second round but I would say that Juan Pablo will probably get the nod.

Duran misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Volkov slips under a jab.

Duran bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Volkov moves out of range as Duran throws a body kick.
Duran shoots in looking for a takedown. Volkov tries to sprawl out of it but Duran keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Volkov manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.
