These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Joans connects with a body shot that sends Damascus's belly button to the back. Damascus is breathing heavily. Joans closes the distance and lands a one-two.
It looks like Alex Damascus has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Damascus switches off momentarily and Joans cracks him with a monster right hand! Damascus topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Joans dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Joans!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnston uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Valentine. Johnston moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Johnston tries to clinch but fails miserably and Valentine counters with a thumping low kick. Valentine throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Johnston. Valentine lands a nice looking body shot.
Johnston moves out of range of the strikes. Johnston tries to clinch and Johnston takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Johnston misses with a right hand and Valentine cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Valentine scores with a jab to the body. Valentine throws a hook but Johnston blocks it. Valentine scores with a crisp jab that stopped Johnston in his tracks.
That's one minute gone in the round. Valentine lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
It looks like Don Johnston has been cut. Johnston takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Johnston takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Valentine connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Valentine misses with a hook. Johnston ducked under it nicely. Johnston takes a shot right to the bread basket. Valentine has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Johnston drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Valentine bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Johnston's head backwards. Johnston drops his hands momentarily and Valentine takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Johnston misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Valentine.

and Valentine counters with a nice leg kick. Valentine throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Vincent Valentine seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jab, jab by Valentine - just one landing. Johnston takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Valentine feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Johnstons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Johnston takes a body punch but keeps moving. Valentine lands a really nice looking cross but Johnston seems unphased.
Valentine fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Johnston looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Valentine cracks Johnston with a right hand to the side of the head. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Valentine feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Johnston's calf. Johnston takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Johnston closes the distance but Valentine moves to the side and Valentine connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Johnston is rocked! Valentine is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Valentine passes Johnston's right leg, so he's now in half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vincent Valentine dominated that round. The cut man is working on Don Johnston's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Don Johnston is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Johnston has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Valentine. Valentine lands with a cross. Valentine lands with a nice body punch. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Good standup being displayed there by Valentine as he connects with a hook. Valentine throws a powerful right kick. Johnston tried to block low but the kick was high! Johnston was taken right off of his feet! Valentine jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Medway tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Damico manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Damico dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Medway avoids a low kick by using good footwork. A slow jab from Damico misses its intended target. Damico will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Damico thuds his right hand into Medway's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Medway tries to clinch but fails miserably and Damico counters with a series of strikes. Medway will be more careful next time no doubt. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Damico blocks a head kick by Medway.
Damico ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Medway looks gassed! Damico lands a big uppercut and Medway crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Medway looks OK. Damico waves Medway back to his feet!

Miller working some nice short punches in the clinch. Foxx tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Miller smiles and moves away.

They are putting on a show! Castro's jab looks to have found its range, popping Wood under the eye. Jeff Wood seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Castro closes the distance and pushes Wood back into the cage. Wood is breathing heavily. Wood wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Castro lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Wood or not. A nice right hand lands inside from Castro.

Castro bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Castro throws a leg kick which misses Wood's front leg but catches the back leg as Wood tries to avoid it. Castro lands a high kick!

It looks like Tone Cross has been cut. Kasserman throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Kasserman sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Cross's defenses. It connects perfectly with Cross's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
