The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rico connects with a leg kick. Lao looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Rico lands a nice looking body shot.
Lao is breathing heavily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Rico cracks Lao with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Rico has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Lao to stand back up!

Lao is rocked!

It looks like Fox Lao has been cut.
Rico finds Lao's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Lao flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Rico lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Lao will be OK.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Holt rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Batungbakal moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Holt throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Batungbakal's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Holt dives in looking to finish as Batungbakal flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Holt's strikes! Holt is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Batungbakal's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Batungbakal was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
