The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Griffin misses with a takedown and Boxe counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
It looks like Forrest Griffin has been cut. Griffin has his takedown stuffed and Boxe counters with a right hand that sends Griffin tumbling to the canvas! Can Boxe finish him? He dives into Griffin's guard looking to do just that!
Griffin is rocked! We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Griffin can do anything to dispel that myth. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Boxe tries to stand but Griffin is controlling from the bottom. Griffin is still in real trouble! Can Boxe finish him? Boxe gets to his feet - Griffin follows without any prompting. Griffin seems to have recovered his senses. Griffin misses with a takedown and Boxe counters with a crisp right that sends Griffin to the canvas! Boxe follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jefferson tries to clinch but Ka Tet moves out of range. Ka Tet misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Jefferson.
Jefferson tries to sprawl but Ka Tet drives through with a takedown into half guard. Ka Tet controlling the action here. Jefferson is looking to escape. Ka Tet stalling. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We're going to have a standup here because Chun Ka Tet wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Ka Tet avoids the head kick by Jefferson.
Jefferson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jefferson moves out of range of the strikes. Ka Tet closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Jefferson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ka Tet wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Jefferson is being controlled here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Ka Tet tries to advance to mount but can't.

Jefferson tries to kick Ka Tet off but Ka Tet keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Ka Tet is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Jefferson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Ka Tet knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jefferson on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ka Tet controlling from the full mount. Jefferson is desperately trying to improve his position but Ka Tet has a good base and remains in mount. Ka Tet content just to control the position here. Ka Tet has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Chun Ka Tet has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Jefferson tries to clinch but fails miserably and Ka Tet counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Ka Tet takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ka Tet prevents Jefferson from standing back up.
Ka Tet content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Ka Tet seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Jefferson for as long as he can get away with.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Chun Ka Tet. Jefferson tries to clinch but Ka Tet moves away and Ka Tet counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jefferson won't be happy with that. Ka Tet is looking to take a break and control but Jefferson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Ka Tet taking a breather here. Ka Tet's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Ka Tet laying and praying for a moment but Jefferson takes advantage and regains half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Chun Ka Tet wasn't doing enough on the ground. Ka Tet throws a right and a left that both miss. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jefferson tries to clinch but Ka Tet moves away and Ka Tet counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Ka Tet is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chun Ka Tet dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Ka Tet drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Ka Tet sitting in guard, not really doing much. Jefferson wants to stand up but Ka Tet is controlling him. Ka Tet tries to free his leg and advance position but Jefferson is retaining full guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Ka Tet advances position into side control!
That's one minute gone in the round. Ka Tet moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Jefferson is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Ka Tet asserts his dominance and retains side control. The referee asks Ka Tet politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Ka Tet prefers to stall for the moment though. Jefferson is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Ka Tet is controlling him well. Cruz Jefferson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Chun Ka Tet is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Ka Tet tries to advance to mount but Jefferson instead regains half guard. Ka Tet trying to control the pace. Ka Tet is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Ka Tet controlling the position easily from mount. Jefferson stops Ka Tet from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ka Tet looking to take Jefferson's back but Jefferson rolls and after a scramble, Jefferson ends up on top in guard. Nice escape there from Jefferson to escape a tricky position. Chun Ka Tet overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Ka Tet manages to escape and get back to his feet.

and Jefferson counters with a body kick that stops Ka Tet in his tracks momentarily. Ka Tet shoots in for a takedown but Jefferson shows good takedown defense. Jefferson defending well as Ka Tet loads up on a big left hand. Ka Tet fails to land with a series of punches.
Jefferson tries to clinch up and Ka Tet counters with a nice body shot. Cruz Jefferson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Jefferson throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Jefferson throws the kick towards the body but Ka Tet avoids it.
And that's the end of the fight! Chun Ka Tet showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ka Tet, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that James Dymond was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Dymond chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Campbell can pounce on him.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ninja throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Marreta was covering up waiting for the punch and Ninja finishes the takedown easily into guard. Marreta can't keep his opponent in guard - Ninja advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Ninja tries to pass to full mount but Marreta defends it. Ninja looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's one minute gone in the round. Ninja is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Marreta doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ninja. Marreta pushes Ninja off looking to stand but Ninja dives back in and keeps control.
Ninja wants to free his trapped foot but Marreta is holding on for dear life with his legs. Ninja missing with the ground and pound from half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ninja wants to pass the guard but Marreta is defending well. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Marreta tries to get to full guard but Ninja has control of the leg. Marreta is refusing to be controlled, as Ninja sits in half guard. Ninja wants to work for an arm triangle but Marreta is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Ninja is trying to control the action in half guard but Marreta is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Ninja not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Ninja is keen to just control but Marreta is a slippery customer. Ninja keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ninja throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Ninja is taking a breather. Marreta says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Marreta is trying to maintain the position but Ninja is very close to passing his half guard. Ninja is working for a submission of some sort.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Ninja thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

and Ninja counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Ninja throws a push kick but Marreta slaps the foot to one side. Marreta lands with a hook. Ninja tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Ninja misses with a head kick.
Marreta catches Ninja with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Ninja throws a hook but Marreta blocks it. Ninja shoots in for a takedown and gets it. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ninja wants to pass the guard but Marreta is defending well. Ninja is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Ninja passes the guard and advances to mount! Ninja sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Ninja can't control as he wanted to and Marreta manages to get the fight back to his half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Marreta regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Ninja. Ninja trying to control the position from guard on top but Marreta is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ninja looking to pass the guard. Ninja slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Ninja throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Ninja looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Ninja tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ninja is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Marreta will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Marreta parries the strikes from Ninja easily there. Ninja is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Marreta to escape.
Marreta tries to bench press Ninja off him but Ninja keeps the position. Ninja sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Marreta is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Marreta is trying to get back to half guard. Ninja tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ninja has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Ninja creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Marreta sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Ninja has knee on belly momentarily but Marreta bucks him off and regains half guard. Ninja trying to pass the guard but Marreta defending well. Ninja not landing any meaningful shots this time. Ninja uses his free foot to push down on Marreta's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Marreta. Ninja avoids the attempt from Marreta to control. Ninja has control of Marreta's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Marreta regains control of the situation pretty easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Murilo Ninja showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Marreta gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Ninja to score an easy takedown into full guard. Ninja throws a strike but Marreta rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Marreta throws and elbow that misses. Ninja uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Marreta's guard. Nice move by Ninja! Murilo Ninja has got the better of the ground game so far. Ninja pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Marreta is keeping the position for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marreta keeping moving, preventing Ninja from controlling successfully. Ninja stops Marreta from standing up. Ninja is pushing down on Marreta's leg trying to pass to half guard. Marreta is fighting to maintain full guard but Ninja has managed to sneak the leg through. Ninja is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Ninja works his way into full mount! Ninja swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Marreta is now in Ninja's guard. A big mistake from Ninja there, giving up the dominant position!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ninja is looking to sinch up a triangle. Marreta throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Ninja's body to avoid the submission. Ninja has instead reached around Marreta's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Ninja arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bika jabs Aoki to the body, keeping him at a distance. Bika lands a jab to the nose. Aoki cracks Bika with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Bika's corner calls for a 1-2. Bika obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Aoki on the wrong end of a nice hook. Bika throws a nice looking combination but Aoki bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Bika slaps away a takedown attempt from Aoki, before circling back to the center of the mat. Bika throws a right hand that Aoki ducks under and follows up with a left that Aoki also avoids with ease. Aoki changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Aoki throws a jab but it's blocked by Bika. Bika misses with a right hand and Aoki counters with a right hand to the body. Bika rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bika misses the shot to the body. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith lands a nice shot that snaps Rua's head back.
It looks like Marco Rua has been cut. Smith misses with a low kick. Marco Rua seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rua misses with a low kick.
Smith blocks a low kick nicely. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rua. Rua tried to score with a low kick but Smith checks it. Rua throws a leg kick which misses Smith's front leg but catches the back leg as Smith tries to avoid it. Rua on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Smith. Smith obviously looking to wear him down.
Smith checks a leg kick nicely. Smith misses with a shot to the body and Rua counters with a leg kick. Smith throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Rua throws a lazy uppercut
and Smith connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Rua shoots in and gets a takedown into Smith's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Smith wants to stand but Rua is controlling the position. Smith looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Rua wants to control from the top but Smith keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith pulls Rua in close to prevent any damage. Rua is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Rua pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Smith is keeping the position for now. Smith looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Mike Smith just wasn't active enough. Smith keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Smith feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Rua's calf. Smith lands with a nice body kick. Smith throws a series of punches but Rua moves out of range. Rua throws a leg kick and Smith counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Rua is lucky that one didn't land flush. Smith changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Rua looks gassed! Smith displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Rua throws out the jab. Rua takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Smith connects with an inside leg kick. Smith fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Rua. A decent looking body kick lands there for Smith. Smith connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Smith throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Rua on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Smith. Smith obviously looking to wear him down.
Smith stuns Rua with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. The fighters circle, before Smith throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Rua's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Smith lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!

Kawai tries to move into range but Takimoto moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Takimoto throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Kawai ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Takimoto moves away. Kawai scores with a punch to the head. Kawai wants to slow Takimoto down by chopping away at his legs. Nice uppercut there from Takimoto. Kawai misses with a looping right. Kawai keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

and Takimoto counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Kawai shoots in looking for a takedown but Takimoto manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kawai's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Takimoto uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kawai.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Takimoto crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Kawai - the referee stops the clock and Takimoto gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Kawai. Takimoto manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Good leg kick by Kawai there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

and Kawai counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Kawai lunges at Takimoto with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Takimoto's hand. Takimoto takes a swing at Kawai's ribcage but misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kawai feints and then cracks Takimoto's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Takimoto down. A telegraphed right hand from Takimoto misses the target. Kawai moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Takimoto pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Takimoto lands a lovely overhand right. Kawai throws a poor cross that misses
and Takimoto counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Kawai scores a takedown into full mount! Takimoto is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Kawai pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kawai landing strikes from the mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kekoa Kawai dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

and Kawai makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Kawai throws a leg kick but Takimoto moved away. Takimoto looks to land a right hand but Kawai moved out of range. Kawai jabs at Takimoto's body. Decent striking displayed by Takimoto there. Kawai will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Kawai ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Kawai tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Takimoto swivels and escapes. Takimoto slips a straight right by Kawai. Takimoto rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Kawai counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Kawai. Kawai prevents a body shot from Takimoto. Takimoto struggles to land a body shot inside as Kawai controls his hands.

Kawai distracts Takimoto with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Takimoto keeping moving, preventing Kawai from controlling successfully. Kawai tries to free his leg and advance position but Takimoto is retaining full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kawai is stalling in the full guard. Kawai trying to control the position from guard on top but Takimoto is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Takimoto had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kawai defends it easily.

Kawai trying to control the position from guard on top but Takimoto is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kawai looking to sit in guard and control but Takimoto gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Kawai is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Takimoto defends well. Kawai has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Takimoto can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kawai is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Kawai scores with a couple of short elbows.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kawai looks up at the clock and then as Takimoto takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Kawai smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Kawai is working Takimoto over with some ground and pound from side control. Kawai tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Kawai is looking to take a break and control but Takimoto is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kawai thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kawai is putting a hurting on Takimoto here, landing some big shots from side control. Kawai sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Takimoto is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Kawai advances to full mount. Kawai has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Kawai goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Takimoto turns into him and now he's in Kawai's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Takimoto wanted to stand there but Kawai had control of the position. It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over. Kawai working for a triangle but Takimoto defends it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Kawai lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Takimoto backwards. Kawai gets control of Takimoto's arms and successfully pulls guard. Kawai will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Takimoto wants to get up but he can't break Kawai's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt. Kawai manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
