The bell rings for round one and we are underway! and Page counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Alexander! He's just covering up as Page starts to tee off till referee steps in and stops the fight!

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jorge Shawn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paz Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Shawn might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to My Time. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva falls off balance throwing a combination
and Shawn counters with a lovely straight right hand! Silva misses with a double jab
and Shawn counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Silva misses with a combination
and Shawn cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Silva misses with a double jab
and Silva takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Silva misses with a combination
and Shawn counters with a lovely straight right hand! Silva stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Silva wants it to stay on the feet. Silva throws a combination that misses and Shawn counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Shawn not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Shawn won't allow Silva to get back to his feet.

Shawn is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Shawn is breathing heavily. Good shot there by Shawn. Paz Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Silva throws a combination that misses and Shawn counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Shawn decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Silva, up you get! Shawn drives through with a takedown into guard. Shawn wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.

Silva connects with a couple of short punches. Shawn is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Silva throws a big right hand that misses. Shawn avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Shawn utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Silva postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. and Shawn counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Some wild striking there from Silva.
Paz Silva is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Horrible takedown by Shawn or perhaps it was just good defense by Silva which made him look bad. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shawn is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Silva has had enough of the clinch but Shawn keeps him there for the moment. Silva wants to break the clinch but can't.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Shawn missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva wants to get back to his feet. Shawn will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Shawn has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Shawn can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Silva is looking to escape.

Silva really wants to buck Shawn off and get back to his feet. Shawn sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Shawn misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Jefferson stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Jefferson stalling.
Jefferson working hard to break the clinch. Paxio tries to pull guard but Jefferson holds him up against the cage and eventually Paxio drops back down to his feet.
Jefferson will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Paxio up against the cage. Paxio drops down looking for an ankle pick but Jefferson pulls his leg out and moves away.
Paxio shoots and misses and Jefferson moves into the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thiago Paxio. That's going to take a lot out of him.
