Saunders tries to land knees in the clinch but Panama avoids the damage to the body. Panama looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Saunders creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Saunders swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Panama tries to break free but Saunders pushes him back against the cage. Panama digs a right hand underneath Saunders's ribcage. Saunders let out a lung full of air as it connected. Panama has Saunders pressed against the cage, preventing Saunders from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Panama stalling in the clinch.
Panama's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Panama fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Panama connects with a right hand. Saunders shakes it off. Panama misses the jab. Panama thows a left - swing and a miss! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Saunders shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Panama counters with a two punch combo. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ramos is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! Ramos is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

He wobbles and falls to the floor - he's in big trouble! Xyan jumps into full mount! Ali tries to reverse the position but Xyan maintains control. Ali wants to control but Xyan is having none of it. That's one minute gone in the round. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ali can do anything to dispel that myth. Ali slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Ali is controlling Xyan's position as best he can from this difficult position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Cesar Xyan just wasn't active enough. Xyan defending well as Ali loads up on a big left hand. Xyan is trying to stand up here but Ali is controlling him well. Ali controlling the pace. Ali not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Still in half guard, Ali seems content to control. Ali thows a huge punch but Xyan dodges it nicely.

Ali sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Xyan defending well though. Ali thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Xyan's head. Ali is controlling the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Xyan taking some punishment here, with Ali in his half guard. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Malinowsky quickly recovers to half guard. Malinowsky is looking to get back to full guard here but Smith has managed to pass to side control instead. Malinowsky is looking for a sweep. Malinowsky should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Malinowsky on the wrong end of some ground and pound. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ovrut throws a series of punches but Kentgens moves out of range. Kentgens shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Kentgens tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ovrut swivels and escapes. Kentgens tries to clinch up and Ovrut cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Ovrut is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kentgens. Kentgens misses with a body shot
and Ovrut counters with a left and a right that stings Kentgens. Kentgens with a poor takedown and Ovrut connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Mark Ovrut has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gideon Kentgens. Ovrut lands with a nice combination. Kentgens backs away looking to recover.
It looks like Gideon Kentgens has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ovrut throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Ovrut rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kentgens moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Ovrut throws a series of strikes that have Kentgens backpedaling.
