0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matt Lesner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Max Gilles! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Franklyn Lucas and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gilles shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Lesner manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Gilles is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Lesner is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Lesner knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gilles on the ground. Gilles postures up in Lesner's guard and throws a big left but Lesner blocks it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gilles drops back looking for a leg! Lesner is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lesner manages to kick Gilles off! Gilles jumps back into Lesner's guard. Lesner is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Gilles has gone for a leg lock! Lesner slips out almost immediately though and dives into Gilles's guard. Lesner throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lesner trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lesner wants to control from the top but Gilles keeps moving. Gilles had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lesner defends it easily. Lesner drops back looking for a leg! Gilles is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gilles manages to kick Lesner off! Lesner jumps back into Gilles's guard. Lesner has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Gilles escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lesner gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Lesner passes Gilles's left leg - he's now in half guard. Gilles moves into full guard.

Gilles has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lesner can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Gilles looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lesner missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Lesner would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Lesner throwing strikes but missing. Lesner loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Gilles lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Lesner! Gilles throws some wild stikes that Lesner manages to avoid easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Lesner is desperately trying to improve his position but Gilles has a good base and remains in mount. Gilles working for a submission but Lesner is keeping him at bay. Gilles working for a guillotine from mount but Lesner is in no mood to give up. You get the feeling that Lesner really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Gilles avoids the attempt from Lesner to control. Gilles is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Lesner has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Gilles manages to capitalize on a mistake by Lesner to take his back! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Max Gilles dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Matt Lesner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lesner scores with a kick to the body.
Lesner pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Gilles fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Lesner connects with a looping right hand.
It looks like Max Gilles has been cut. Lesner fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Gilles sprawls well initially but Lesner persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Lesner sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Gilles defending well though. Lesner throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Lesner throwing shots but Gilles is blocking nicely. Lesner throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Gilles is breathing heavily. Gilles is not content to let Lesner control the position. Gilles is looking to get back to full guard here but Lesner has managed to pass to side control instead.

The ground and pound from Lesner seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Gilles tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Lesner wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Gilles is working to avoid the ground and pound but Lesner connects with a decent elbow. Gilles parries the strikes from Lesner easily there. Lesner is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Gilles to escape.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Lesner sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Gilles is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Lesner swings around for an armbar but Gilles sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Lesner's guard. Lesner looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gilles is one step ahead there. Lesner working a defensive guard here.
Lesner wants to sweep here but Gilles controlling him for the moment. Max Gilles has got the better of the ground game so far. Lesner wants to stand up but Gilles is controlling him. Gilles drops back looking for a leg! Lesner is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lesner manages to kick Gilles off! Gilles jumps back into Lesner's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lesner wants to get back to his feet but Gilles is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Gilles wants to control from the top but Lesner keeps moving. Gilles stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lesner swivels though and keeps the full guard. Lesner pulls Gilles in close to his closed guard and prevents Gilles from doing any damage or advancing position. Gilles passes Lesner's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Gilles is trying to control the action in half guard but Lesner is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Gilles is trying to work for a kimura but Lesner is defending well.

Matt Lesner dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Max Gilles's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!
Gilles shoots in and gets a takedown into Lesner's guard. Gilles drops back, looking for a kneebar! Lesner looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Lesner looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Lesner! Gilles can't do much from the bottom here. Lesner is looking to take a break and control but Gilles is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Gilles is positioning himself to get back to half guard. You can see the frustration on Gilles's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gilles sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Lesner lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Lesner wants to stand up but Gilles is controlling the position.

Lesner wants to take a breather but Gilles is having none of it.

Gilles is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Lesner seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Gilles has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Lesner is looking to regain half guard here but Gilles keeps moving and retains side control. Gilles looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Gilles takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Gilles working away. Lesner looking for a sweep but Gilles has passed into full mount! Oh no! Gilles working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Lesner looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Gilles! Submission of the night perhaps?

3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Mauler! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, John Kavanagh and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thunders looks to land a combination. Mauler sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
It looks like Joe Mauler has been cut. Mauler scores with a hook to the body. Thunders takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Thunders slaps away a takedown attempt from Mauler, before circling back to the center of the mat. Mauler avoids the head kick by Thunders.
Mauler shoots for a double leg takedown but Thunders sprawls well. He's pushed Mauler's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Thunders avoids the head kick by Mauler.
Thunders throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Thunders tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. A kick lands to the mid section there for Thunders. Mauler looks gassed! Oooooh!!! Thunders has knocked Mauler down with a huge combo! Thunders steps away and waves a wobbly Mauler back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Mauler is rocked! Thunders throws a nice inside leg kick. Mauler is still on wobbly legs! Can Thunders finish him? Thunders wobbles Mauler with a right hand and the left hook that follows puts him on his rear! Thunders dives in with a huge flying punch that connects right on the button and puts Mauler to sleep! - What a violent and spectacular finish!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hansen fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Carlos Ochoa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hansen closes the distance and clinches up with Ochoa, looking for a takedown. Hansen pushes Ochoa against the cage but Ochoa circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Ochoa throws a series of punches but Hansen moves out of range. Hansen misses with a takedown attempt - Ochoa sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mac Hansen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hansen shoots in for a takedown but Ochoa shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Ochoa fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hansen manages to avoid it. Ochoa connects with a crisp jab. Nice takedown defense from Ochoa. No joy for Hansen on that attempt. A shot to the body from Ochoa misses and Hansen counters with a nice double leg into side control. Ochoa won't be happy with that. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ochoa being controlled for a moment. Hansen thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Ochoa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hansen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Ochoa is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Hansen tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Ochoa feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Hansens jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Hansen fails with a takedown attempt. Mac Hansen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Ochoa throws a leg kick and Hansen counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Hansen is adopting a defensive guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Carlos Ochoa showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

A punch combination from Ochoa misses. Hansen dives in and grabs Ochoa's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ochoa pushes down on Hansen's head and hops out. Ochoa ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hansen moves away. Hansen shoots in but Ochoa avoids the takedown attempt easily. Ochoa misses with a body shot
and Hansen counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Hansen. Ochoa bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hansen's guard. Hansen looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ochoa is one step ahead there. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ochoa controls from within his opponent's guard. Hansen controlling the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Mac Hansen has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Ochoa looks to score with a jab to the body but Hansen is just out of range. Ochoa defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Hansen. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mac Hansen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ochoa works Hansen's body with a nice hook. Ochoa misses with a wild body shot. Hansen avoids the body shot from Ochoa.
Nice sprawl there from Ochoa as Hansen shoots in. Hansen keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Hansen tries for a takedown but Ochoa circles away easily and Ochoa makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Ochoa throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

and Ochoa counters with a nice uppercut. Ochoa lands a glancing blow to the side of Hansen's head. Hansen uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ochoa.

Hansen takes a shot right to the bread basket.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ochoa throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hansen stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. This has been an exciting period of action! Hansen avoids the body shot from Ochoa.
Ochoa lands a two punch combo.
Ochoa jabs at Hansen's body. Ochoa scores with a crisp jab that stopped Hansen in his tracks. Ochoa lunges at Hansen with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Hansen's hand. Ochoa cracks Hansen with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Ochoa lands a glancing blow to the side of Hansen's head. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ochoa lands with a shot to the body. Ochoa moves out of range of the body kick. Ochoa cracks Hansen with a right hand to the side of the head.
And that's the end of the fight! Carlos Ochoa comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Ochoa has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! T misses with a takedown attempt and Hoos connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. T with a lazy takedown attempt enabling Hoos to counter with a crisp jab. Johnny T seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hoos fails with the takedown and T counters with a single leg into guard. Hoos didn't expect that. T stopping the sweep attempt from Hoos. T is standing up over Hoos. Hoos looks to escape but T dives into side control.
T tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no T has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! T goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Hoos has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for T but great work by Hoos.
That's one minute gone in the round. T gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Hoos tries to pass the half guard into mount. T knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. T is trying to control but can't.
Hoos takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Hoos seems to be working for a kimura but T defends the submission attempt. T actively working from the bottom here. Hoos is looking to take a break and control but T is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. T is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hoos's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hoos's back!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Hoos has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke. T trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.

It looks like Zhang Zhu has been cut. Creed looks to clinch and Zhu counters with a nice uppercut. Creed is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Zhu's half guard. Zhu pushes Creed off and gets back to his feet. Creed closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Zhu to the mat! Zhu manages to get full guard. Zhu wants to sweep but no luck. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Creed accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Smith swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and King is now in Smith's guard. A big mistake from Smith there, giving up the dominant position! Petey Smith overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. King is looking to stand up but Smith won't let him. Smith is looking to stand back up but King counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Smith. Smith is trying to stand up here but King is controlling him well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Smith makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! King fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Smith takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. King lands a jab to the head.
King stalks Smith and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Smith's face. Smith staggers backwards, shaken. King throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Smith sees it coming and avoids it easily. Smith displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as King throws out the jab. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Smith on the wrong end of a nice hook. King lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Peter King. I think King has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
