0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Reggie Hunter! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Dillan Fox and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hunter darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Plotka on the wrong end of a nice jab. Hunter displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. A combination from Hunter does no damage. Hunter swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Plotka. Hunter lands the left hand. Plotka tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hunter sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Plotka somewhat. Hunter dips to his left and cracks Plotka with an uppercut! This has been an exciting period of action! Hunter gets in close and instigates a clinch. Plotka taking a breather. Plotka fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Plotka has clasped his hands together around Hunter's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Plotka tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Plotka wants to stand but Hunter is controlling his arm.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sloppy strikes there by Plotka. Plotka fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Plotka looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Plotka is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hunter is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Plotka has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Hunter tries to bench press Plotka off him but Plotka keeps the position. Plotka has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Plotka dodges the punch combination from Hunter.
Reggie Hunter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hunter ducks under a wild hook from Plotka. Plotka misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michal Plotka. That's going to take a lot out of him. Plotka leaves Hunter with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jovanovitch tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Esperanza was well out of range. Poor timing from Jovanovitch. Esperanza keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Esperanza is looking to clinch. Jovanovitch fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Esperanza is out of range. Esperanza is looking to clinch but Jovanovitch is avoiding it.
Esperanza shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Jovanovitch manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Jovanovitch pulls Esperanza in close to his closed guard and prevents Esperanza from doing any damage or advancing position. Esperanza drops back looking for a leg! Jovanovitch is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jovanovitch manages to kick Esperanza off! Esperanza jumps back into Jovanovitch's guard. Jovanovitch is adopting a defensive guard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Du Pont leaves Qura with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Du Pont stuffs the takedown. Du Pont shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Qura defends it nicely. Du Pont throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Qura was covering up waiting for the punch and Du Pont finishes the takedown easily into guard. Du Pont trying to control but Qura is working from the bottom. Qura is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Du Pont postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Du Pont is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Du Pont postures up in Qura's guard and throws a big left but Qura blocks it.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tashinchev moves in looking to clinch but Mezza pushes him off. Mezza takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Tashinchev wants to control from the top but Mezza keeps moving. Tashinchev is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! X drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. MacIntyre keeping full guard, as X tries to pass. X passes into half guard. MacIntyre tries to roll over but X keeps him under control. X looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. MacIntyre is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of X's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take X's back! MacIntyre controls the action. MacIntyre is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. X knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften X for a finish. X is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

MacIntyre is bucking up trying to escape but X cracks him with another couple of good strikes. X punching from mount but MacIntyre doing a good job of avoiding damage. Lance Vanvalkenburg seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Vanvalkenburg shoots in but ONeal avoids the takedown attempt easily. Vanvalkenburg shoots in looking for a takedown. ONeal tries to sprawl out of it but Vanvalkenburg keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage.
