The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Garcia fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Liddell manages to avoid it. Liddell looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Liddell takes a swing at Garcia 's ribcage but misses. Garcia swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A jab lands there for Garcia . Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Liddell stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Garcia . Garcia lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Garcia . Garcia throws a nice outside leg kick. Liddell throws a lazy right hand but Garcia sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Garcia cracks the inside of Liddell's front leg. Liddell uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Garcia .

Liddell circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Garcia connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Liddell really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Garcia .

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Howard darts in and clinches Carwin up against the ropes. With the two fighters working up against the ropes, Howard just misses with a elbow thrown towards Carwin's brow. Howard looks to throw an elbow but misses. Carwin pushes off an throws an elbow but Howard leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the ropes. Howard gets through Carwin's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Howard lands a hook to the side of the head. Howard lands an uppercut. With the fighters up against the ropes, Howard throws an elbow but misses. Carwin is trying to break the clinch but Howard is controlling him. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Howard. Carwin wants to get back to striking at distance but Howard won't allow it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Carwin throws a wild body kick that Howard sees coming a mile off. Carwin with a lazy takedown attempt and Howard counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Howard clinches up with Carwin and pushes him back against the ropes. Carwin dodges an elbow strike from Howard.

Howard takes the fight into the clinch. Howard scores with a shoulder strike. Carwin jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Howard walks away with a smile on his face. Carwin gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Howard lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. John Howard is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Howard keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Howard looks to land a combination but Carwin avoids it well. Howard will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Decent striking displayed by Howard there. Danga de danga de dang - Howard scores with a four punch combination! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Carwin takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Howard jabs at Carwin's body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Howard catches Carwin with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Howard lands an overhand right. Howard fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Carwin takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Howard scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Carwin misses with a takedown and Howard connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Howard throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Carwin on the side of the head. Carwin shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Howard counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Howard misses with a looping left. Howard closes the distance and clinches. Howard throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Carwin is rocked! Howard looks to throw the jab but Carwin is out of range. Howard smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Howard darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Carwin is still on wobbly legs! Can Howard finish him? Howard misses with a straight left. Howard loads up on a big right hand but Carwin slips the punch. Howard throws a monster overhand right that drops Carwin! Howard follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
