The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bite keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Bite scoring well with a low kick there.
Bite goes for a high kick. It partially lands. A good leg kick by Bite. Cartwright gets a clinch. Cartwright blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Cartwright managing to block the knees to the body from Bite.

Bite tries to improve his position but instead Cartwright has taken his back! Cartwright biding his time, controlling Bite.

Decimus trying to control the position from guard on top but Chapman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Decimus looking to sit in guard and control but Chapman gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Chapman working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Chapman wants to get up but he can't break Decimus's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Chapman drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Chapman jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Decimus is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Chapman is controlling him. Decimus working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Chapman. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Chapman throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Decimus works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Decimus wants to stand but Chapman is controlling the position.
