Star shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
letting Mendoza counter with a right hand.

and Mendoza counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Westhaven feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Westhaven wants to control from the top but Townsend keeps moving.

Townsend looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Townsend utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Westhaven really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Townsend. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Westhaven has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Townsend to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Westhaven is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Townsend pulls down on the head and he's put Westhaven to sleep! This one is all over!
