 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Woodlley drives through with a takedown into guard. Silva looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Silva keeping moving, preventing Woodlley from controlling successfully. Woodlley missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Woodlley trying to control the position from guard on top but Silva is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Woodlley pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Silva is keeping the position for now. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

 We're going to have a standup here because Tyron Woodlley wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Silva shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Woodlley counters with a takedown into side control. Woodlley wants to control but Silva is keeping him busy.

and Woodlley counters by moving into the clinch.

Tyron Woodlley overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Woodlley is trying to control the action in half guard but Silva is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Woodlley clinches up with Silva and pushes him back against the cage.
Woodlley is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Silva can't fight it off and eventually Woodlley manages to take the fight to the floor. Silva looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Silva is working an open guard so Woodlley takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Woodlley jumps guard and drags Silva to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Woodlley looking to hit a scissor sweep but Silva is one step ahead there. Silva working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Woodlley knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground. Silva takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Woodlley is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Silva defends well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Silva has gone for a leg lock! Woodlley slips out almost immediately though and dives into Silva's guard. Woodlley throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Silva works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Woodlley slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Silva keeping full guard, as Woodlley tries to pass.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

and Palacio counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Couture has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Palacio is working away from the top position though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Palacio wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Couture uses the opportunity to regain full guard.

Couture seems to have locked his on tight now - Palacio screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Couture, as he picks up the win!

He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Jonness is looking for a sweep. Core is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Core sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Jonness defending well though. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Core lands a nice short elbow. Core working Jonness over with strikes. Jonness wants to improve his position but Core is controlling well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marnota fails with the takedown and Jackson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
