The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zloi shoots for a double leg takedown but Resendies sprawls well. He's pushed Zloi's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Resendies dodges the punch combination from Zloi.
Resendies leaves Zloi with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Resendies tries for a takedown but Zloi sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Zloi lands a jab. Zloi throws a head kick that misses and Resendies counters with a head kick. Zloi shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Resendies sprawls well. Resendies wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Zloi gets slowly back to his feet. Brownie Resendies has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Leha Zloi. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Resendies. Resendies moves into range and clinches up with Zloi. Resendies working hard to break the clinch. Resendies tries to score a body lock takedown but Zloi shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Resendies is trying to drag Zloi to the mat but Zloi just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Resendies wants to get back to striking at distance but Zloi won't allow it.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Resendies wants to break the clinch but can't.

Zloi lands a couple of decent looking shots. Zloi working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Resendies's head. Zloi preventing the sweep. Zloi loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Resendies looking to control.
Zloi stands and steps away. Resendies gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Zloi misses with a hook
and Resendies counters with a nice double leg into side control. Zloi won't be happy with that. Resendies looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Zloi is trying to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Zloi wants to get back to his feet. Sloppy strikes there by Resendies. Zloi is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Resendies stops Zloi from getting back to his feet.
Zloi looks gassed! Zloi keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Zloi manages to get to full guard.
Zloi is working an open guard so Resendies takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Horrible takedown by Zloi or perhaps it was just good defense by Resendies which made him look bad. Resendies fails with a takedown attempt. Resendies tries to close the distance and clinch up but Zloi swats him away and circles back towards the center. Zloi shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Resendies but Resendies pushes him off and we're back to square one. Resendies closes the distance and pushes Zloi back into the cage. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Resendies breaks the clinch.
Zloi stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Zloi wants it to stay on the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nice straight punches there by Resendies. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Resendies. Resendies gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Zloi prevents Resendies from breaking the clinch. Resendies manages to pull guard.

Zloi takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Resendies jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Zloi walks away with a smile on his face. Resendies gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Resendies gets control of Zloi's arms and successfully pulls guard. Resendies will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Zloi throws and elbow that misses. Resendies uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Zloi's guard. Nice move by Resendies!

Resendies trying to control the position from guard on top but Zloi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Zloi wants to stand and escape but Resendies is having none of it. Zloi is keeping the position for now. Resendies wants to control from the top but Zloi keeps moving. Resendies is looking to advance position but Zloi has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Resendies tries to hold on but Zloi postures up. Zloi landing shots from mount.

Leha Zloi is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Zloi dominating with strikes here. Resendies regains half guard. Zloi is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Resendies tries to roll over but Zloi keeps him under control. Brownie Resendies has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Zloi content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Corleone wants to pass the guard but Patterson is keeping the position. Corleone must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Corleone is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Patterson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Patterson has escaped and now he's on top! Corleone keeping moving, preventing Patterson from controlling successfully. Corleone keeping full guard, as Patterson tries to pass. Corleone wants to stand up but Patterson is controlling him. Patterson passes Corleone's left leg - he's now in half guard. Patterson wants to stand up but Corleone has a hold of him and won't allow it. Patterson is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Patterson thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

It looks like Sonny Corleone has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Patterson! Corleone is out on his feet! Patterson rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Corleone is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Corleone is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Landry closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Brewer quickly recovers to half guard. Landry lands with a punch from half guard. Landry is trying to control the action in half guard but Brewer is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Landry is thwarting Brewer's attempts to control the position. Landry thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Brewer to regain full guard. Brewer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Brewer avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Landry throwing strikes but missing. Landry missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Landry has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brewer tries to land a sweep but no joy. Landry is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Landry keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Brewer's head. Landry postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Brewer is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Landry, into his guard. Landry has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Brewer can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Landry is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Brewer is aware though and is defending well. Landry working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Brewer has passed into half guard!

Brewer is looking to take a break and control but Landry is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Brewer stalling away here and it's allowed Landry to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Landry can't keep his opponent in guard - Brewer advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Landry counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Brewer! Landry is in the full mount, landing strikes. Brewer taking shots to the head. Landry jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Brewer is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Brewer and Landry has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Landry lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Brewer down.
Brewer might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. You can see the frustration on Brewer's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Landry swings around for an armbar but Brewer sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Landry's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brewer trying to control the position from guard on top but Landry is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Landry looking for a sweep. Not yet Landry, not yet. Landry is looking for a triangle but Brewer pushes his legs off easily.
Landry looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Brewer passes into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Landry actively working from the bottom here. Brewer stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Landry to get to his feet. Brewer scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice takedown defense from Brewer. No joy for Landry on that attempt. Brewer feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Landry sprawling to the canvas! Landry rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Brewer finish him?!
Landry is rocked! Brewer connects with a stiff jab that staggers Landry - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Shamrock. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Shamrock is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Austin has escaped the position, nice work there. Austin wants to control but Shamrock postures up. Shamrock tries for a kimura but Austin is defending well. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Shamrock is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Austin looks calm but he's in trouble here. Shamrock gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Austin is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Shamrock lets go of the hold and Austin can pop his arm back in it's socket.
