1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Maximus Jackson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Antony Pettis! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Leandro Rodrigues and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson circles away from the clinch attempt enabling Jackson to counter with a crisp jab. The fight moves into the clinch position. Jackson breaks the clinch.
Pettis doesn't succeed with the takedown and Jackson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Jackson. Pettis controls Jackson momentarily but Jackson frees himself. Pettis is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Jackson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Pettis is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Pettis will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Jackson stands up from Pettis's guard - Jackson perhaps looking for a knockout. The fight moves into the clinch position. Jackson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jackson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Jackson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Pettis tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Jackson is in Pettis's guard. Jackson is breathing heavily. Jackson looking to pass the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pettis is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Jackson frees his head nicely. Oh but Pettis has switched to an armbar! Jackson is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

Brave comes to the cage accompanied by Eco, Eco (somos de taleco). On his way into the cage it seems that Rod Brave has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Rod Brave seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gilbert Melendez! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Alexandre Firmino and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Melendez closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Brave did well to prevent Melendez getting side control. Brave tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Brave is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Melendez's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Melendez's back! Brave is punishing Melendez with some ground and pound. Brave struggling to keep hold of the position.
Brave is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Brave gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Brave gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Brave apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Melendez rushes Brave and presses him up against the cage. Brave crunches a lovely knee into Melendez's ribcage. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Brave. Brave gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Melendez regains guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Melendez working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Brave. Melendez wants to sweep but no luck. Brave trying to control the position from guard on top but Melendez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Melendez working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Brave. That's one minute gone in the round. Brave lands strikes from half guard. Brave passes to full mount! The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Brave cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Brave fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
It looks like Gilbert Melendez has been cut. Melendez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brave. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Brave breaks from Melendez's wrist control and lands an elbow. Brave tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Brave looking to control but Melendez is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Brave putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Brave in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
That has opened up Gilbert Melendez's cut even more. Brave tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

The cut above Gilbert Melendez's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Brave trying to control but he's not successful this time. Brave lands a nice shot to the head. Brave lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Melendez is rocked!
Gilbert Melendez's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Brave has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Melendez is trying desperately to improve position. Brave controlling his opponent. Melendez is squirming around, avoiding Brave's attempts to control the action. Brave is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Melendez is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brave lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gonzales closes the distance looking to clinch and Janosik counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Gonzales with a lazy takedown attempt and Gonzales takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Janosik closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gonzales to the mat! Gonzales manages to get full guard. Gonzales tries to land a sweep but no joy. Janosik trying to control the position from guard on top but Gonzales is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Janosik is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Gonzales has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Janosik is looking to defend but Gonzales has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Janosik! Gonzales pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Janosik taps out and this one is all over!
