The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Juarez closes the distance and pushes Dejong back into the cage. Dejong drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kirk misses with a low kick. Brown waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Kirk. Kirk throws a low kick but Brown avoids it. Kirk throws a low kick, looking for Brown's leg but Brown calmly moves out of range. Kirk pivots, looking for a leg kick but Brown is out of range and Kirk settles back down. Kirk swings away with a leg kick that misses. Kirk throws a leg kick that misses. Kirk blocks a head kick by Brown.
A combination from Brown does no damage. Brown uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Kirk has time to react. Brown checks the leg kick. Brown throws a shot from downtown. Kirk moves away and avoids it. Brown misses with a two punch combination.
Kirk tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kirk throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. A low kick from Brown misses and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Brown misses with a double jab.

Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Kirk. Brown shrugs it off though. Kirk throws a front kick aimed at Brown's knee but Brown avoids it well. Kirk misses with a leg kick. Kirk swings away with a leg kick that misses. Brown throws out a powerful jab. That kick from Kirk tenderised Brown's leg. Brown is trying to keep his angry face on. Brown throws a jab but it's blocked by Kirk. Kirk drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kirk is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Brown knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Kirk working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kirk tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kirk thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kirk is working to tighten is grip on Brown's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Brown has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Kirk is really squeezing tight and eventually Brown passes out! Kirk breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Burns misses with a body shot
and Magenta counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Magenta cracks Burns with a right hand to the side of the head. Magenta clinches. Burns goes for a takedown attempt but Magenta pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Magenta slaps away a takedown attempt from Burns, before circling back to the center of the mat. Magenta rushes Burns and presses him up against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Magenta digs a right hand into Burns's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Burns's gas tank. A head punch blocked on the inside by Burns. Magenta wants to stall.

He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Farro has a hand on Hero's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Hero takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Hero is landing with some decent strikes but Farro is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
