The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mashego tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Fourie counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Mashego lands a slapping body shot.

Fourie has Mashego up against the ropes in a clinch.
Mashego tries to break free but Fourie pushes him back against the ropes.

Fourie breaks the clinch.
Mashego could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Mashego misses with a hook. Fourie ducked under it nicely.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ricky Randaberg.

Risen walks forward, straight into a front kick from Gomi.
Gomi misses with a head kick.
Gomi cracks Risen with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Risen steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Gomi. That one must have hurt.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gomi throws a nice head kick!
Gomi throws a combination. Risen tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Risen looks gassed!
Gomi turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Gomi lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Gomi misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Gomi throws a leg kick which misses Risen's front leg but catches the back leg as Risen tries to avoid it.

Gomi lands a left and a right that send Risen crashing to the mat, dazed. Gomi thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Risen is rocked!
Gomi fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Gomi scores with a one two! Risen had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Risen is still on wobbly legs! Can Gomi finish him?
Gomi throws a head kick that misses.
Risen seems to have recovered his senses.

Gomi lands a big head kick that sends Risen tumbling to the mat! Gomi takes a step backwards and waves Risen back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Gomi lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Gomi rushes Risen with punches - Risen moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Risen goes down! Gomi follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Takanori Gomi!
