The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cho Choi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Cho Choi misses with an uppercut
enabling Obsen to counter with a crisp jab. Cho Choi misses with a right hand and Obsen counters with a stiff right hand. Cho Choi throws a head kick that misses. Cho Choi misses with a hook
and Obsen counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Cho Choi throws a leg kick and Obsen counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Minoru Cho Choi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cho Choi throws a leg kick and Obsen counters with a nice uppercut. Obsen looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Cho Choi can do anything to dispel that myth. Obsen looking for a submission but Cho Choi manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.

Obsen loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Obsen is looking to work some ground and pound but Cho Choi has wrist control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Obsen throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Cho Choi works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Cho Choi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Obsen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Obsen tries to free his leg and advance position but Cho Choi is retaining full guard. Obsen stands and throws Cho Choi's legs to the side, diving into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Obsen in side control lands a decent elbow. Obsen working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Obsen moves into full mount! Cho Choi holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Obsen tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cho Choi wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Obsen.

Obsen is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Cho Choi has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Cho Choi! Cho Choi pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Obsen is keeping the position for now. Cho Choi has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Obsen to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Cho Choi is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Obsen pulls down on the head and he's put Cho Choi to sleep! This one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pajkic clinches up against the cage. A quick uppercut on the inside from Pajkic. Makunochi letting Pajkic take a breather here. A short right from Pajkic. Makunochi gets control of Pajkic's arms and successfully pulls guard. Makunochi will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Pajkic is in close to Makunochi's body, working some short punches and elbows. Pajkic is looking to work some ground and pound but Makunochi has wrist control. Pajkic drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Pajkic jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Pajkic drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Pajkic seems to have locked his on tight now - Makunochi screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Pajkic, as he picks up the win!

It looks like Dario Mancinelli has been cut. Prefix tries to stand but Mancinelli is controlling his head. Mancinelli is looking for a sweep. Prefix is looking to take a break and control but Mancinelli is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Mancinelli is looking for a sweep. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Calypse trying to control but Nelson is working from the bottom. That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Nelson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Nelson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Calypse struggling a bit here. Nelson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Calypse has escaped the position, nice work there. Calypse tries to bench press Nelson off him but Nelson keeps the position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Nelson goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Calypse rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Nelson's guard! Nice work there by Calypse! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
