The Boss slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. The Boss keeping full guard, as Buddha Boss tries to pass. Buddha Boss wants to control from the top but The Boss keeps moving. Buddha Boss wants to get up but he can't break The Boss's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Buddha Boss wants to control from the top but The Boss keeps moving.

Buddha Boss closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Buddha Boss is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and The Boss reverses the position - he's now on top in Buddha Boss's guard. The Boss is in close to Buddha Boss's body, working some short punches and elbows. The Boss wants to control from the top but Buddha Boss keeps moving. The Boss pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Buddha Boss is keeping the position for now. Buddha Boss is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Buddha Boss looks gassed! The Boss landing with the ground and pound.

The Boss takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Buddha Boss wants to control but The Boss is keeping busy and won't allow it. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. The Boss stalling. The Boss looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Buddha Boss with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. The Boss has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. The Boss working over Buddha Boss with some ground and pound. Buddha Boss looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. The Boss is nestled in close to Buddha Boss, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. The Boss working Buddha Boss over with strikes.

The Boss moves nicely into side control. Buddha Boss really doesn't want to stay on the ground with The Boss. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The Boss working the ground and pound.
The Boss is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Buddha Boss is trying to escape and The Boss transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Buddha Boss is forced to tap! Nice work there by The Boss! Very nice indeed!

and Fight Club counters with a single leg into guard. Mhn didn't expect that. Mhn looks gassed! Fight Club slips nicely into half guard. Fight Club seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Fight Club's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nightingale gets caught flat footed, as Vonstein shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Vonstein looking to pass the guard.
Vonstein postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Nightingale is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Vonstein, into his guard.

Tick misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Tick with a nice cross. Tick fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Pleman has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Good leg kick by Tick there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Tick lands a nice looking body kick. Pleman on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Tick cracks the inside of Pleman's front leg. Tick throws a sloppy head kick and Pleman moves out of range easily. Tick pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Tick kicks Pleman off and gets back to his feet. Tick throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Tick lands a leg kick that knocks Pleman off balance momentarily. Pleman on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Tick lands a glancing blow to the side of Pleman's head.

Babu shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Aimaasu defends it nicely. Babu fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Aimaasu avoids it really well and circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Abula Babu. That's going to take a lot out of him. Babu fails to land the takedown. Babu changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Aimaasu tries to avoid it but Babu manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Aimaasu to the ground. Aimaasu escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Babu. Babu tries to score a power double leg takedown but Aimaasu sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Babu somewhat. Aimaasu stuffs the takedown attempt from Babu. Babu gets slowly back to his feet.

Babu has his takedown stuffed and Aimaasu counters with a right hand to the body.

Babu throws a strike but Aimaasu rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Babu will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Babu had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Aimaasu defends it easily. Aimaasu is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Babu fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Abula Babu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Aimaasu misses with an uppercut. Babu saw that one coming. Babu tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Aimaasu. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Aimaasu swivels though and keeps the full guard. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Aimaasu holds on and takes a little breather. Babu throws a big right hand that misses. Babu pushes Aimaasu against the cage but Aimaasu circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Abula Babu. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Babu shoots for a double leg takedown but Aimaasu sprawls well. He's pushed Babu's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Babu doesn't succeed with the takedown and Aimaasu counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Babu thinking.
