The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Beauvais fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hernandez fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Hernandez shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Beauvais counters with a one-two to the body. Beauvais closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Beauvais stands up and we're back to a striking position. Hernandez tries to clinch but Beauvais is having none of it. Hernandez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Beauvais with a poor takedown and Hernandez counters with a nice double leg into side control. Beauvais won't be happy with that. Hernandez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Hernandez decides to take the fight back to the feet. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hernandez is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Beauvais. Beauvais swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Hernandez counters with a takedown into side control. Hernandez controlling the position from side mount.

Hernandez swings around for an armbar but Beauvais sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Hernandez's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Beauvais wants to control from the top but Hernandez keeps moving. Beauvais really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hernandez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Hernandez looking to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Beauvais loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Beauvais trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Beauvais is fighting to break Hernandez's control of his arms but Hernandez is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

That sent Hernandez stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Beauvais with a lazy takedown attempt and Hernandez counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Hernandez is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Beauvais is forced to tap! Great finish!

Koscheck looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The strikes coming from DeMarino are missing the target in this wave of attacks. DeMarino lands a nice forearm strike. DeMarino postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Samsa changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Samara looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Samsa is working to tighten is grip on Samara's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Samara has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Samsa is really squeezing tight and eventually Samara passes out! Samsa breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
