The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughes throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Chen counters with a right hand to the body.
Hughes doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Chen cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Hughes tries for a takedown but Chen circles away easily
and Chen counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Matt Hughes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hughes moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Chen lands a really nice looking cross but Hughes seems unphased.
It looks like Matt Hughes has been cut.
Hughes moves forwards but Chen connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Hughes takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

and Chen counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Hughes! He's just covering up as Chen starts to tee off till referee steps in and stops the fight!
