The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Talpata lands a nice shot to the body.
Tozi throws an off balance right hand
and Talpata counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Tozi avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Tozi working for a triangle but Talpata defends it easily.
Tozi is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Tozi lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Talpata! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Talpata in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Tozi throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Tozi scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Talpata?

Tozi can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Talpata is looking to escape. Tozi goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Talpata is on top in guard.
Talpata stopping the sweep attempt from Tozi. Tozi has his foot on Talpata's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Talpata works his way back into a safe position though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tozi looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Talpata preventing the sweep. Talpata throws a big right hand that misses. Tozi will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Talpata is working Tozi over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Tozi is on top in guard.

Talpata loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Talpata slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Talpata scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Tozi not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Talpata wants to control from the top but Tozi keeps moving. Tozi manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Talpata manages to get himself to full guard.

It's a sloppy attempt though and Tozi jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Tozi loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Talpata can do anything to dispel that myth. Tozi missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Tozi postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Tozi throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Tozi postures up in Talpata's guard and throws a big left but Talpata blocks it. Tozi with a flurry of punches that miss. Talpata looking for a sweep. Not yet Talpata, not yet. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Talpata holds on and takes a little breather. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Talpata wants to sweep here but Tozi controlling him for the moment. Tozi makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Cesar Tozi will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Talpata throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Tozi lands the left hand. Tozi closes the distance and lands a one-two.

It looks like Pesho Talpata has been cut. Talpata fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Talpata is still on wobbly legs! Can Tozi finish him? A big left from Tozi misses. Talpata is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Tozi doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Talpata crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Talpata's bad books for that mishap!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gracie darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Davis wants to get back to his feet. Gracie thows a huge punch but Davis dodges it nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Davis is looking to get back to is feet but Gracie passes into side control.
Gracie tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Gracie works to advance to full mount. Davis defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Gracie pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
It looks like Michael Davis has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The referee warns Davis that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Michael Davis's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Gracie postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Davis looks a forlorn figure.

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Esra Pound (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sal Kelly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Esra Pound had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 146.4lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Sal Kelly told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kelly gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Pound counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kelly won't be happy with that. Kelly tries to get back to half guard but can't. Kelly manages to work his way to half guard, despite Pound's best efforts. Kelly makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Kelly. Pound lands a couple of elbows. Kelly is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Pound has his hands clasped together but Kelly extends an breaks Pound's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Kelly.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Ward closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Ward jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jackson walks away with a smile on his face. Ward gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Jackson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ward. Jackson lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Ward at a distance.
Jackson looks to land a combination. Ward sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Ward will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mickey Ward. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ward moves into the clinch. Ward drops down looking for an ankle pick but Jackson pulls his leg out and moves away.
Jackson lands a nice hook to Ward's body. Ward takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Jackson stuns Ward with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Anthony Jackson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Jackson moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Jackson stuns Ward with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Ward moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Ward takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

A decent looking cross lands there for Jackson. Jackson pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Ward back to the cage. Jackson follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jackson scores with a one two! Ward had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Jackson lands with a nice body punch. Jackson goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Jackson works over Ward's head and body with a nice combination. Good exchange - Jackson coming out on top. Ward takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Jackson!
Jackson shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Ward eats them both and turns towards Jackson to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. A combination from Jackson does no damage. Ward throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Jackson lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Jackson wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Mickey Ward has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jackson scores with a nice right hand.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hunter throws a series of punches but Dixon avoids them all with ease. Hunter shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Dixon eats them both and turns towards Hunter to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
It looks like Vince Dixon has been cut. Hunter wants to land a leg kick but Dixon is out of range. Dixon tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Hunter counters with a left and a right that stings Dixon. Dixon fails with the takedown and Hunter counters with a single leg into guard. Dixon didn't expect that. Hunter must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hunter postures up in Dixon's guard and throws a big left but Dixon blocks it. Hunter wanted to stand there but Dixon had control of the position. Dixon manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hunter manages to get himself to full guard.
Dixon postures up and lands a big shot to Hunter's brow. Hunter is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Dixon passes Hunter's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Dixon moves nicely into side control. Hunter parries the strikes from Dixon easily there. Dixon is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Hunter to escape.
Hunter is not content to let Dixon control the position. Hunter avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Dixon. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hunter can do anything to dispel that myth. Hunter dodges the ground and pound from Dixon.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Dixon creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Hunter sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Hunter looks gassed! Dixon wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hunter keeps working. Dixon thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Dixon wants to control but Hunter is keeping him busy. Dixon in side control, just content to control the action for now. Dixon has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Hunter! Dixon has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Torres stuffs the takedown attempt from Steele. Steele gets slowly back to his feet. Steele ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Torres moves away. A telegraphed right hand from Torres misses the target. Steele slips a straight right by Torres. Steele fails in his attempt to clinch. Steele on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Torres throws a right hand that misses
and Steele counters with a nice double leg into guard. Steele seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Torres working a defensive guard here.
Torres is pulling down on Steele's head. It's preventing any offense from Steele, at least for the moment. Torres wants to sweep but no luck.

Torres is looking to reverse the position. Steele misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bearpig keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Marius bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Bearpig's head. A decent looking cross lands there for Marius . Marius throws a looping overhand right but Bearpig ducks down to avoid it. Bearpig shoots in for a takedown but Marius shows good takedown defense. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carlitos misses with a looping left. Kenyon steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Carlitos . Jab from Kenyon. Kenyon lunges at Carlitos with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Carlitos 's hand. Carlitos throws an off balance right hand
and Kenyon counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Alexandre Carlitos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kenyon throws a hook but Carlitos avoids it easily. Kenyon walks into a straight right hand from Carlitos . Carlitos misses with a right hand and Kenyon counters with a series of strikes. Carlitos will be more careful next time no doubt. Carlitos lands a nice looking body shot.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kenyon misses the shot to the body. Carlitos rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Kenyon counters with a nice double leg into guard. Kenyon throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Carlitos works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Carlitos looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Kenyon puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Kenyon throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Kenyon seems to be working for a kimura but Carlitos defends the submission attempt. Kenyon maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Carlitos could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Kenyon has cracked it and Carlitos is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Kenyon!
