0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Spartacus Jones! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones lands a two punch combo.
It looks like Layen Pray has been cut. Jones lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Pray swats away the attempt to clinch by Jones. Jones throws a series of punches but Pray avoids them all with ease. Pray scores with a takedown into Jones's guard. Pray has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Jones can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Pray controls the pace. Pray got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jones has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alexander jabs at Kai's body. Alexander gets the takedown into side control. Alexander lands a decent elbow from side control. Alexander throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Alexander cracks Kai with a big right hand but Kai just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Alexander postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Alexander tries to score with some ground and pound. Kai controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Kai looks gassed! Alexander throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Kai works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Alexander thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kai's head. Kai has hold of Alexander's hands but Alexander slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Kai is looking to improve his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Alexander with good strikes from the mount here! Alexander is landing with some decent strikes but Kai is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Alexander cracks Kai with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Kai has his takedown stuffed and Alexander makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Kai takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. No joy there for Alexander, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Alexander throws a leg kick which misses Kai's front leg but catches the back leg as Kai tries to avoid it. Alexander stalks Kai and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Kai's face. Kai staggers backwards, shaken. Alexander lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kai circles away quickly and effectively. Kai takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Alexander goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Alexander scores with a crisp jab that stopped Kai in his tracks. Alexander lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Alexander closes the distance and lands a one-two. Alexander ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Alexander bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Kai's head. Some bone on bone action there as Kai checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Kai with a poor takedown and Alexander counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. This has been an exciting period of action! Alexander not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Kai looking to hit a scissor sweep but Alexander is one step ahead there. Kai utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Alexander landing with the ground and pound. Alexander throws a big right hand that misses. Alexander has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Alexander tries to work over Kai's front leg with a kick but Kai checks it. Alexander sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Alexander keeps control of the position for the meantime.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Gray. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. Mabie lands a knee to the head.

Gray moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Gray shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mabie but Mabie pushes him off and we're back to square one. Gray has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Mabie leaves Gray with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Mabie scores with a one two! Gray had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Gray fails miserably with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jason Gray. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mabie stuffs the takedown. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mabie lands a big head kick that sends Gray tumbling to the mat! Mabie takes a step backwards and waves Gray back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Gray drops his hands momentarily and Mabie takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Gray tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mabie sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gray somewhat. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Mabie!
Mabie throws a push kick but Gray slaps the foot to one side. Mabie lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Gray closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Gray is trying to work for a kimura but Mabie is defending well.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Gray seems to be looking for submissions.

Gray shoots in but Mabie avoids the takedown attempt easily. Mabie closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Gray is trying to drag Mabie to the mat but Mabie just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Mabie prevents a takedown attempt there.

And that's the end of the fight! Nathan Mabie comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Mabie winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
