The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Arlovskii tries to clinch but fails miserably and Kalashnikov counters with a single leg into guard. Arlovskii didn't expect that. Kalashnikov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Arlovskii swivels though and keeps the full guard. Kalashnikov thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Kalashnikov is pushing down on Arlovskii's leg trying to pass to half guard. Arlovskii is fighting to maintain full guard but Kalashnikov has managed to sneak the leg through. Kalashnikov wants to work for an arm triangle but Arlovskii is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Arlovskii tries to get to full guard but Kalashnikov has control of the leg. Arlovskii on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Arlovskii tries to get out of the position. Arlovskii is staying active underneath Kalashnikov, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Arlovskii trying to hold on to Kalashnikov's head to control him but Kalashnikov postures up.

Mack controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Mack trying to control the position from guard on top but Sirovica is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mack stays in close to Sirovica's body and controls the position.
We're going to have a standup here because Bernard Mack wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Mack displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Sirovica throws out the jab. A solid leg kick lands there for Mack.

Canseco swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Rotmensen lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Canseco uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rotmensen.

He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Canseco trying to control from half guard but Rotmensen is working away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rotmensen blocking the ground and pound attempt from Canseco . Canseco seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rotmensen does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Canseco not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Rotmensen trying to hold on to Canseco 's head to control him but Canseco postures up.

It looks like Jakob Ultra has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ultra misses with a lunging right hand

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lima tries for a takedown but Torres circles away easily and Torres counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Torres ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lima moves away. Lima closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Torres quickly recovers to half guard. Lima is looking for a kimura here.
Lima is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Torres sees it coming and defends easily. Torres is trying to stand up here but Lima is controlling him well. Torres tries to roll over but Lima keeps him under control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lima is looking to take a break and control but Torres is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Lima is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lima throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Torres wants to control but Lima is keeping busy and won't allow it. Lima takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Lima seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Torres does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Castroy cracks Hoshi with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Hoshi looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Castroy finish him?
Hoshi is rocked! Castroy lands a big uppercut and Hoshi crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Hoshi looks OK. Castroy waves Hoshi back to his feet! Oh Hoshi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jeez, Ryu Hoshi's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked. Castroy fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Hoshi to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Hoshi looks to clinch but Castroy throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Hoshi taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
