The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bubba moves into the clinch. Koenig breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bubba tries to sprawl but Koenig drives through with a takedown into half guard. Koenig will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Bubba tries to kick Koenig off but Koenig keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Koenig winds up and cracks Bubba with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Bubba is trying to maintain the position but Koenig is very close to passing his half guard. Bubba is trying to stand back up but Koenig is controlling him
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Koenig wants to pass to mount but Bubba is defending the position. Koenig in half guard on the top. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Swarowski tries for a takedown but Belfort sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Belfort keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Swarowski shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Belfort as he avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Swarowski. That's going to take a lot out of him. Belfort throws a poor cross that misses
and Swarowski counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Belfort thinking. Belfort throws a combination that misses and Swarowski counters with a shoot takedown. Stalit throws a sloppy head kick and Johnson counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Johnson on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
A frustrated look appears on Johnson's face as he tries to break the clinch. Johnson gets control of Stalit's arms and successfully pulls guard. Johnson will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Johnson is pulling down on Stalit's head. It's preventing any offense from Stalit, at least for the moment. Stalit with a flurry of punches that miss.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Silva showed some decent athleticism there. Renton is controlling Silva's position as best he can from this difficult position. Silva is pressing down on Renton's thigh, looking to free his foot. Renton is holding on for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Renton gets back to full guard.
