Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Benjo Hadzija! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Dan Svensson! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Sam Margolis and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hadzija cracks Svensson with an open hand slap. Svensson misses with a takedown and Hadzija counters with a nice uppercut. Hadzija swings for the body but Svensson moves out of range.
Svensson doesn't succeed with the takedown and Hadzija counters with a left to the body. Hadzija wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Oooooh!!! Hadzija has knocked Svensson down with a huge combo! Hadzija steps away and waves a wobbly Svensson back to his feet! This one might not go much longer! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Svensson checks the leg kick. Hadzija moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Hadzija feints and as Svensson raises his hands in defense, Hadzija changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Svensson working a defensive guard but Hadzija passes into half guard.
Hadzija tries to stand but can't do so whilst Svensson controls his leg. Hadzija decides to return to a standing position. Hadzija gets tackled into the cage by Svensson. Svensson maintains the clinch. Svensson misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Hadzija's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Hadzija escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Hadzija lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Hadzija. Svensson tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Hadzija counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Svensson thinking. Svensson is trying desperately to land a takedown but Hadzija is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Svensson. Svensson takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Hadzija keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Nice body punch from Hadzija. Svensson looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. A left lands for Hadzija. Hadzija connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Svensson momentarily.

Dan Svensson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hadzija fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Hadzija closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Svensson wants to get back to full guard but Hadzija has mounted him! The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. You get the feeling that Svensson really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Hadzija is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Hadzija connects with a body shot that sends Svensson's belly button to the back. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! The fight moves into the clinch position. Svensson tries to throw a body punch but Hadzija avoids it by throwing Svensson back against the cage. Svensson tries to clinch up. Hadzija throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Svensson stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Hadzija stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Hadzija is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Hadzija lands a head kick. Svensson smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Hadzija fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Svensson manages to avoid it. Hadzija throws a shot from downtown. Svensson moves away and avoids it. Svensson scores a takedown into full mount! Svensson misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Hadzija bucks up and throws Svensson to the side - he's got back to his feet. Great escape! Both fighters are breathing heavily. Svensson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hadzija swats him away and circles back towards the center. Hadzija throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hadzija has decided that he can't make progress quickly enough from the back position and has rather unusually decided to stand up from the dominant position. Obviously he's going to be looking for the knockout on the feet here!

And that's the end of the fight! Benjo Hadzija showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hadzija, winning every round. Will the judges agree? OKeeffe shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Williams counters with a single leg into guard. OKeeffe didn't expect that. Williams stands and throws OKeeffe's legs to the side, diving into side control. Williams stands up and we're back to a striking position. Williams gets a takedown into half guard. Williams prevents OKeeffe from improving his position. Williams is thwarting OKeeffe's attempts to control the position. OKeeffe looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Williams prevents OKeeffe from improving his position. OKeeffe flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Well, if Williams is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
OKeeffe tries to get to full guard but Williams has control of the leg. Williams decides to stand and escape the position. OKeeffe lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OKeeffe misses with a few strikes there.
OKeeffe gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Williams to score an easy takedown into full guard. OKeeffe is looking to stand up but Williams isn't so interested in that idea. Williams sitting in guard, not really doing much. OKeeffe has momentary wrist control but Williams slips an elbow through the middle. Williams looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Williams landing some decent shots from guard.

The fight stays on the outside here - OKeeffe looks like he's thinking about clinching though. OKeeffe takes a swing at Williams's ribcage but misses. Williams throws a series of punches but OKeeffe moves out of range. Williams closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into OKeeffe's guard. Williams is breathing heavily. OKeeffe is trying to hold Williams in close to prevent damage but Williams has managed to pass into half guard.

OKeeffe with a poor takedown and Williams counters with a takedown into side control. OKeeffe is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Williams off and has taken his back! Williams tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Williams wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by OKeeffe.

Seb Williams showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Williams throws a sloppy head kick and OKeeffe counters with a nice low kick that buckles Williams's knee momentarily. Williams looking for a takedown here - he's got it. OKeeffe is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Williams is controlling him. OKeeffe is trying to control the position but Williams postures up. Williams wants to control from the top but OKeeffe keeps moving. OKeeffe escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Williams gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Williams slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from OKeeffe. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Williams is taking a breather. OKeeffe says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Seb Williams hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. OKeeffe shoots and misses and Williams decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in OKeeffe's guard. Williams won't allow OKeeffe to sweep him here. OKeeffe trying to keep a closed guard but Williams is proving a slippery customer.
Williams wants to stand but OKeeffe has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Seb Williams has got the better of the ground game so far. OKeeffe wants to sweep here but Williams controlling him for the moment.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Sunny Singh! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Andrew Berry and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A chopping leg kick lands by Singh. Singh with a nice cross. Singh looks to land a body kick but Morrison moved away. Singh tries to close the distance and clinch but Morrison swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Singh throws a head kick that misses. A nice inside leg kick there by Singh. That's going to slow Morrison down. Morrison shoots in for a double leg but Singh sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Morrison gets caught napping as Singh dives in and scores a takedown. Morrison manages to retain guard. Morrison is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Singh defends well. Singh gets to his feet - Morrison follows without any prompting. This has been an exciting period of action! Morrison takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bowron has his takedown stuffed and Sansom counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Bowron's guard now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sansom wants to get up but he can't break Bowron's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Sansom in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Sansom throws a strike but Bowron rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Bowron wants to control from the top but Sansom keeps moving. Bowron looking to sit in guard and control but Sansom gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Sansom has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Bowron is proving hard to escape from. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Sansom scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Bowron is landing with some decent strikes but Sansom is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Bowron trying to control but Sansom is having none of it. Bowron raining down shots from the mount! Louis Sansom is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Bowron cracks Sansom with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Poopi shoots in looking for a takedown. Russo tries to sprawl out of it but Poopi keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Russo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Poopi looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Poopi displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Russo throws out the jab. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Poopi is defended easily by Russo.
