The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A low kick from Groove is predictable there and Rua finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Rua looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Rua is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Groove. Groove misses with a head kick.
Groove misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Groove throws a leg kick and Rua makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Groove is breathing heavily. This has been an exciting period of action! Rua throws a head kick that misses. Groove blocks a head kick by Rua.
Groove steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Rua. Rua lands a big head kick that sends Groove tumbling to the mat! Rua takes a step backwards and waves Groove back to his feet - he wants the finish!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva's jab looks to have found its range, popping Obrien under the eye. Silva jabs Obrien to the body, keeping him at a distance. Obrien tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Silva scoring well with a low kick there.
Silva tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. That kick from Silva tenderised Obrien's leg. Obrien is trying to keep his angry face on. This fight brought to you by 5M nutrition - it's mmmmm tasty. Nice jab by Silva. Jab by Silva. Silva works the jab nicely. Silva cracks Obrien with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Silva lands with an overhand left. Silva lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Silva fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Obrien looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
That's one minute gone in the round. Obrien tries to clinch but Silva moves out of range. Paulao Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Silva lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Silva ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Silva keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Good leg kick by Silva there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Silva takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Silva fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Obrien looks gassed! Silva throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Obrien stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Silva lands with a slapping head kick.
It looks like Roger Obrien has been cut.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silva cracks Obrien with a good jab. Silva lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Silva thuds his right hand into Obrien's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Silva with a jab. Paulao Silva is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Silva lets loose with a powerful body kick. Obrien will feel that in the morning. Obrien walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Silva scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Obrien doesn't seem bothered though. Obrien takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Silva wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Silva keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Obrien takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Silva scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Jab from Silva. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Obrien tries to move into range but Silva moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Silva - that will leave a mark!

Obrien looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Obrien is breathing heavily. Silva sizes up Obrien with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Silva is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Silva slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Silva lands a slapping body shot.

That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Silva throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Obrien walks straight into a jab right on the nose. Obrien takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Silva clobbers Obrien with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Silva lands with a shot to the body. Silva tests Obrien's chin there with a solid looking shot. Obrien walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Silva cracks Obrien with an open hand slap. Nice shot lands for Silva. Obrien takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Silva bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Obrien's head backwards. Silva with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fight stays on the outside here - Obrien looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Silva lands with an overhand left. Silva darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Silva connects with a jab. Obrien doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Silva connects with a nice looking jab.
Silva throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Silva keeps Obrien at a distance using the push kick. Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Obrien might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Silva has got the better of the exchanges.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silva lands with a good body shot. Silva wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Silva connects with a high kick. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Jab from Silva. Obrien has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Silva finds it's way round the side to connect with Obrien's head. Silva scores with a crisp jab that stopped Obrien in his tracks. Good standup being displayed there by Silva as he connects with a hook. Roger Obrien has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! A slapping leg kick lands for Silva.

Obrien takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Silva cracks Obrien with an open hand slap. Silva is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Obrien can do to turn this around? Obrien gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Silva thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Obrien if he has to take too many more of those.

Silva fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Obrien. Silva fakes the leg kick and cracks Obrien in the body. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Silva feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Obriens jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Paulao Silva is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. A jab from Silva does it's job there.
And that's the end of the fight! Paulao Silva showed his dominance in that final round. Well Silva has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Stevens on his heels. He'll look to pass Stevens's guard now, I'm sure. Silva slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Stevens is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Silva looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Romo Silva wasn't doing enough on the ground. Silva tries to keep at a distance but Stevens has taken the fight into the clinch.

Silva is trying to trip Stevens. He has hold of a leg but Stevens is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Silva persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Silva controls from within his opponent's guard. Silva's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

We're going to have a standup here because Romo Silva wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Stevens misses with a takedown attempt and Silva counters with a nice double leg into guard. Stevens working a defensive guard here.
Silva wants to pass the guard but Stevens is keeping the position. Stevens wants to stand up but Silva is controlling him. Silva slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Silva preventing the sweep. Silva postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Stevens fails with the takedown and Silva counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Stevens! Stevens looks gassed! Silva controlling the pace for now. Silva lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Stevens hang on? Silva is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Stevens can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Stevens is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Silva tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Silva feints and as Stevens raises his hands in defense, Silva changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Silva controlling from the top position. Silva working some strikes from top position. Silva is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Silva advances to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Still in half guard, Silva seems content to control. Stevens tries to roll over but Silva keeps him under control. Silva is taking a breather. Stevens says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Romo Silva has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. A momentary lapse in concentration from Stevens enables Silva to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Stevens manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Silva's corner is telling him to maintain position. Silva with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Silva works a leg free and moves into half guard. Silva sitting and controlling from the half guard. Stevens is looking to control Silva's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Stevens avoid being mounted? And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Stevens's guard. Silva takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Silva is thwarting Stevens's attempts to control the position. Skip Stevens has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Silva content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
And that's the end of the fight! Romo Silva showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Silva, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Silva misses with a few strikes there.

We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if En tries to get out of the position. Maeda wants to control from the top but En keeps moving. Maeda drops back looking for a leg! En is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and En manages to kick Maeda off! Maeda jumps back into En's guard. Maeda thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Maeda drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Maeda jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. En kicks Maeda off and gets to his feet. Maeda gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
