Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kullervo Pershiki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kari Grandi! The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Marco Blurström and Arvi Lind.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grandi tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Pershiki counters with a single leg into guard. Grandi didn't expect that. Pershiki's corner is telling him to maintain position. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Pershiki has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
 The ref stands the fighters back up. Kullervo Pershiki wasn't doing enough on the ground. Pershiki fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Grandi avoids it really well and circles away.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Pershiki shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Grandi but Grandi pushes him off and we're back to square one. Pershiki tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Grandi swivels and escapes. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kullervo Pershiki. That's going to take a lot out of him. Grandi avoids the body shot from Pershiki.
Pershiki looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Grandi tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Pershiki moves into the clinch.

Grandi wants to stand but Pershiki is controlling his posture from full guard. Pershiki is controlling Grandi's posture. Grandi wants to stand but Pershiki has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Grandi looks gassed! Pershiki pulls Grandi in close to his closed guard and prevents Grandi from doing any damage or advancing position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

 The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Kullervo Pershiki. Pershiki circles away from the clinch attempt
and Pershiki counters with a nice double leg into guard. Pershiki postures up in Grandi's guard and throws a big left but Grandi blocks it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Grandi can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Pershiki controls the pace. Pershiki throws a big right hand that misses.

and Grandi counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Grandi.
Pershiki pulls guard effortlessly. Grandi wants to get up but he can't break Pershiki's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Pershiki has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pershiki is on top in guard.
Grandi is working an open guard so Pershiki takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Grandi wants it to stay on the feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pershiki bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Grandi's guard. Pershiki trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Grandi is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Grandi is looking to stand up but Pershiki isn't so interested in that idea. Grandi being controlled here, momentarily. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
 The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Pershiki throws a head kick that misses.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Grandi keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Nice sprawl there from Grandi as Pershiki shoots in. Pershiki shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Grandi sprawls well. Grandi wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pershiki gets slowly back to his feet. Grandi displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Pershiki.

and Pershiki counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Grandi! Grandi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pershiki. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

and Grandi holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Grandi tries to land knees in the clinch but Pershiki avoids the damage to the body. Pershiki changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Grandi fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Pershiki is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Pershiki is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Pershiki chips away with some ground and pound.

Grandi is working an open guard so Pershiki takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Pershiki closes the distance and clinches up with Grandi, looking for a takedown. Pershiki pushes Grandi against the cage but Grandi circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Pershiki throws a nice looking combination but Grandi bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Pershiki tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Pershiki shoots in but no luck this time.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Grandi moves to clinch but Pershiki breaks away
and Pershiki counters by clinching up. Grandi misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Pershiki.
Pershiki jumps guard.
Pershiki is pulling down on Grandi's head to control his posture. Grandi wants to stand and escape but instead Pershiki has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Grandi is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
And that's the end of the fight! Kullervo Pershiki showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pershiki, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Akergaard misses with the body kick and James counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Akergaard thinking. Caden Akergaard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. James fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. James throws a left and a right that both miss
and Akergaard counters with a nice double leg into side control. James won't be happy with that. James tries to bench press Akergaard off him but Akergaard keeps the position. Akergaard grinds an elbow into James's temple. Akergaard has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
James sneaks out the side door and pushes Akergaard away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. James misses with the combination.
Akergaard dives in and scores a takedown into James's guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Akergaard won't allow James to get back to his feet. Akergaard passes easily into side control. Nice work. Akergaard wants to control but James is keeping him busy.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Akergaard working the head and body with strikes. James gets back to half guard. Akergaard prevents James from improving his position. Ground and pound from Akergaard. Akergaard trying to pass the guard but James defending well.

 Rand James has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Akergaard tries to score a power double leg takedown but James sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Akergaard somewhat. A head kick misses from James.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. James throws a head kick but Akergaard moves out of range.

Akergaard bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. James is breathing heavily.
A momentary lapse in concentration from James enables Akergaard to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. James manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Akergaard sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed James's guard. James might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Akergaard throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Akergaard postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for James to stand up. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Akergaard connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between James's hands. Akergaard lands with a kick to the ribs.
James takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. James avoids a kick to the body.

Akergaard goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Akergaard has a takedown stuffed. Akergaard throws a quick inside leg kick. Akergaard is looking to slow James down with leg kicks. A combination from James does no damage. Akergaard thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on James if he has to take too many more of those.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! James stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and James wants it to stay on the feet. James chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Akergaard can pounce on him.
Akergaard scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Akergaard lands a nice leg kick that just misses James's sensitive parts. Rand James is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Akergaard fails to land the takedown. Rand James has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Caden Akergaard. Akergaard throws a body kick that misses. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Akergaard throws a leg kick which misses James's front leg but catches the back leg as James tries to avoid it. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Akergaard.
Akergaard tries to score a power double leg takedown but James sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Akergaard somewhat. James steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Akergaard. That one must have hurt.
 That's one minute gone in the round. James tries to move into range but Akergaard moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Good work by James as he checks the leg kick. Akergaard scores with a shot to the body.
Akergaard throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. James tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Akergaard is in James's guard. Akergaard advances position into side control! Akergaard wants to lay and pray for a moment but James keeps working.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. James gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Caden Akergaard has got the better of the ground game so far. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Akergaard quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Akergaard but it's paid off an James is forced to tap! Nice work by Akergaard.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zerep throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Gracie counters with a single leg into guard. Zerep didn't expect that. Gracie stands and throws Zerep's legs to the side, diving into side control. Zerep is looking to regain half guard here but Gracie keeps moving and retains side control.
Gracie tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Gracie tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gracie has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Zerep is looking for a sweep. Gracie is looking to take a break and control but Zerep is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Zerep manages to work his way to half guard, despite Gracie's best efforts.

Gracie wants to work for an arm triangle but Zerep is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Gracie is trying to control the action in half guard but Zerep is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Gracie works his way into full mount! Gracie looking to control and managing it successfully. Gracie lands a nice shot to the head. Gracie throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Gracie can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Zerep is looking to escape.
Zerep is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Gracie locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Zerep is forced to tap!
