Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Phil Davis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shane Bishop! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Alyssa Summers and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Davis fails with the takedown and Bishop cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Nice body punch from Bishop. Bishop fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Bishop feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Bishop avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Davis looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Bishop gets to his feet. Davis looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! A head kick misses from Bishop. Bishop fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Davis sprawls well initially but Bishop persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Bishop is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Bishop digs a good body shot into Davis's ribs. Bishop gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Bishop lands on the inside with an uppercut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bishop connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Davis momentarily.

A big left from Davis misses. Davis closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bishop to the mat! Bishop manages to get full guard. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Bishop uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Davis takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Bishop wants to clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shane Bishop dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Davis shoots in for a takedown but Bishop shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Bishop swings for the body but Davis moves out of range.
Bishop stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Davis closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Davis is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Bishop is trying to escape and Davis transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Bishop is forced to tap! Nice work there by Davis! Very nice indeed!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson throws a leg kick and McGee connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. McGee tries to clinch but Johnson moves away and Johnson counters with a takedown into side control. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! McGee is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Johnson off and has taken his back! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McGee misses with an elbow to the head. McGee punches the canvas rather than the man. McGee throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch. Johnson takes a big shot to the side of the head.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hardy smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Arroyo slips a straight right by Hardy. Hardy sizes up Arroyo with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Hardy lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Hardy lands a jab. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hardy scores with the left hand. Arroyo knows he should have avoided that one. Hardy missing with a left hand there. Arroyo was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. A slow jab from Hardy misses its intended target. Hardy misses with an uppercut. Arroyo saw that one coming. Arroyo moves out of range as Hardy strikes. Arroyo ducks under a wild hook from Hardy. Hardy looks to land a right hand but Arroyo moved out of range. Arroyo wants to clinch. Nick Hardy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hardy throws a good cross that connects.
It looks like Gabriel Arroyo has been cut. Arroyo slips under a jab. Hardy throws a hook but Arroyo blocks it. Arroyo throws a push kick but Hardy slaps the foot to one side. Hardy misses with a straight right. Hardy is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Arroyo jabbing away but nothing is landing. Arroyo misses with a head kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hardy feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Arroyos jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! A decent looking cross lands there for Hardy. Hardy throws a hook to the side of Arroyo's head but Arroyo sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Hardy stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hardy wants it to stay on the feet. Arroyo shoots for a takedown but Hardy saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Hardy connects with a good right hand that stumbles Arroyo. Arroyo circles away out of range and recomposes himself. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Arroyo is defended easily by Hardy. Nick Hardy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gabriel Arroyo. Hardy loads up on a big right hand but Arroyo slips the punch. Hardy looks to throw the jab but Arroyo is out of range. Arroyo displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hardy throws out the jab. Hardy throws a lazy right hand but Arroyo sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Hardy swats away the attempt to clinch by Arroyo. Hardy misses with a straight left. Hardy pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Arroyo is trying desperately to land a takedown but Hardy is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Arroyo. Hardy misses the jab. Hardy is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Arroyo throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hardy was covering up waiting for the punch and Arroyo finishes the takedown easily into guard. Hardy is breathing heavily.
