The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morehead lands a nice leg kick that just misses Howe's sensitive parts.
Howe throws a right hand that Morehead ducks under and follows up with a left that Morehead also avoids with ease.
Morehead keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Howe fails with a takedown attempt.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Howe enables Morehead to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Howe manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Howe wants to stand up but Morehead is controlling him.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Howe pushes Morehead away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Morehead gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Howe has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Morehead regains guard immediately.
Howe connects with a couple of short punches.

Howe decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Howe.
Morehead misses with a looping right.
Morehead shoots in for a double leg but Howe sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Howe gets a clinch.
Morehead prevents a takedown attempt there.
Morehead wants to break the clinch but can't.
Howe fails to pull the fight into his guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Howe avoids the elbow strike from Morehead, against the ropes.
Howe presses Morehead against the ropes and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Howe closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Morehead to the mat! Morehead manages to get full guard.

Howe drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Howe jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Howe accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
