The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Piper lands with a good body shot. Harpenter shoots in and bounces Piper off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Harpenter pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Piper is keeping the position for now. Piper is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Harpenter has his hands clasped together but Piper extends an breaks Harpenter's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Piper.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mcgeezak misses with a hook
and Braincells connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Braincells closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Mcgeezak did well to prevent Braincells getting side control. Braincells is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Mcgeezak sees it coming and defends easily. Braincells is looking to advance position but Mcgeezak won't allow it. Braincells seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mcgeezak does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Braincells misses with a head shot. Mcgeezak uses the momentum to regain guard. Lostma Braincells seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mcgeezak cracks Braincells with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Braincells tries for a takedown but Mcgeezak sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Braincells is trying hard to land a takedown here. Mcgeezak sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lostma Braincells. That's going to take a lot out of him. Braincells cracks a nice hook into Mcgeezak's ribs. Mcgeezak misses with a left hand and Braincells counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Lostma Braincells overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Braincells is looking for a sweep. Mcgeezak is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Mcgeezak in particular looking to stall.

and Jardim counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Jardim. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jardim is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Dantes is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Jardim is pressing down on Dantes's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Dantes in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Dantes seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
