The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oliveira lands a nice looking body shot.

Oliveira lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

and Light connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Light is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Oliveira is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Light goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Oliveira rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Light's guard! Nice work there by Oliveira!

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Oliveira is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Light jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Oliveira is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Oliveira and Light has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Light is looking to take a break and control but Oliveira is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
