The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Poopi has his takedown stuffed and Lannister counters with a nice double leg into side control. Poopi won't be happy with that. Poopi is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Poopi managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Lannister.
Poopi is looking for a sweep. Poopi dodges the ground and pound from Lannister. Poopi controls the position for a moment. Poopi tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Lannister wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McAlster looks to clinch and Lewis counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. McAlster darts in trying to clinch and McAlster takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Lewis cracks McAlster with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Lenny Lewis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lewis connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. McAlster takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
McAlster wants to clinch but Lewis slips to the side and Lewis counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. McAlster looks gassed! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lewis lands the left hand. A right-left combo lands from Lewis.
It looks like McGee McAlster has been cut. Lewis getting the better of the striking in that exchange. McAlster takes one to the chin there. Lewis digs a good body shot into McAlster's ribs. Lewis scores with a jab. McAlster acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Lewis connects with a good right hand that stumbles McAlster. McAlster circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Lewis takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
McAlster is rocked! Lewis works McAlster's body with a nice hook. Donk. Lewis catches McAlster right on the button with a cross. Lewis dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Lewis goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. McAlster is still on wobbly legs! Can Lewis finish him? Lewis rushes McAlster with punches - McAlster moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, McAlster goes down! Lewis follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Williams feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Williams content to stall in guard here. Williams might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Sankar is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Williams won't allow Sankar to sweep him here. Williams gets to his feet - Sankar follows without any prompting. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith cracks Sefus with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
It looks like Bj Sefus has been cut. Smith misses with a left hand letting Sefus counter with a right hand. Smith tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sefus sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Smith somewhat. A combination from Sefus does no damage. Sefus misses with a few strikes there.
Smith gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Sefus counters with a two punch combo. Smith throws a sloppy head kick and Sefus moves out of range easily. Smith throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Smith misses with a takedown and Sefus counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sam Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sefus jabs Smith to the body, keeping him at a distance. Sefus paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sefus scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Smith with a poor takedown and Sefus cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Smith is breathing heavily. Sefus feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Smiths jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Sefus!

Sefus is sitting in close to Smith's body. Smith has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Sefus is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Sefus is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Smith.

Hadzija swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Hadzija swings for the body but Morrison moves out of range.
Morrison has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Morrison there as he acknowledges the shot. Morrison misses with a takedown attempt and Hadzija counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Hadzija. Morrison is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Morrison blocks a leg kick. Morrison keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Morrison. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. Hadzija shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Hadzija was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Hadzija is standing up, even though he is in mount.

Hadzija scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Benjo Hadzija seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hadzija swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Morrison. Morrison takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Morrison is rocked! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Hadzija throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Morrison on the side of the head. Oh Morrison is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Hadzija steps in with a hook that catches Morrison right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Hadzija follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Morrison looks absolutely devastated.

Swick looks gassed! Swick misses with a kick to the body and Russo connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Ryan Russo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Swick shoots in for a double leg but Russo sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Swick shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Russo but Russo pushes him off and we're back to square one. Russo darts in and clinches Swick up against the cage.

Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Russo obliges. Russo's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Russo lands a knee to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Russo is pushing Swick up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Russo lands an elbow that stopped Swick in his tracks for a moment. Swick takes an elbow to the forehead. Swick changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Russo fights it off and pushes away nicely.

The cut above Chris Swick's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Russo clinches. Swick tries to pull guard but Russo holds him up against the cage and eventually Swick drops back down to his feet.

Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Russo walks away with a smile on his face. Swick gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Russo lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Russo misses with a head kick.
No luck for Swick with that takedown attempt. Swick keeps the fight on the outside. Chris Swick seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Russo gets tackled into the cage by Swick. Swick maintains the clinch. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Swick takes an elbow to the forehead. Swick tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Russo smiles and moves away.
Swick feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Swick is breathing heavily. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Russo creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Swick's defenses.
