Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shane Carwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Piotr Pych (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Carwin might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to kill or be killed. Shane Carwin had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 266.1lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Shane Carwin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Piotr Pych! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Albert Achterberg and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pych tries to clinch but fails miserably and Carwin counters by moving into the clinch. Carwin turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Pych misses with a strike from the bottom. Carwin scores with a couple of short elbows. Pych can't do much from the bottom here. Pych is trying to get back to his feet. Pych is working to avoid the ground and pound but Carwin connects with a decent elbow. Carwin looks up at the clock and then as Pych takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Carwin smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Pych is rocked! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Carwin gets to mount! Pych was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Pych is still in real trouble! Can Carwin finish him? Carwin tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Pych seems to have recovered his senses. Carwin jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Pych manages to avoid the submission attempt. Pych takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
That's one minute gone in the round. A big shot lands for Carwin! That's hurt Pych! Will he recover? Carwin fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! James looks for a takedown but Oxer sprawls well. James shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Oxer but Oxer pushes him off and we're back to square one. James shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Oxer counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps James thinking. Beau Oxer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of LeBron James. Oxer rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but James moves out of range and avoids them all easily. A looping hook to the body misses from Oxer. James does a little dance to reset his feet. LeBron James seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Oxer leaves James with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. James shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Oxer napping and manages to drive through into side control! James misses with an attempted head punch from side control. James throwing strikes but Oxer manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! James is looking to reverse the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. James is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. James throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. James has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Oxer wants to control the pace but James is squirming around nicely. Oxer controlling the pace for now. Oxer wants to control the pace but James is squirming around nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. James sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Oxer is looking to take a break and control but James is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round. James misses with a takedown attempt - Oxer sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. James with a poor takedown and Oxer counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Oxer lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
James is rocked! James is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Oxer doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! James crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in James's bad books for that mishap!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rutten takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Rua throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Rutten swings for the body but Rua moves out of range.
Rutten looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Rutten passes Rua's left leg - he's now in half guard. Rutten stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Rua to get to his feet. Rua tries to keep at a distance but Rutten has taken the fight into the clinch. Rutten wants a takedown.

Mauricio Rua has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wandy Rutten. Rutten misses with a takedown attempt - Rua sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Rutten looks gassed! Rua lands a big head kick that sends Rutten tumbling to the mat! Rua takes a step backwards and waves Rutten back to his feet - he wants the finish!
It looks like Wandy Rutten has been cut. Rutten avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Rutten fails to land the takedown. Rua tries a head kick but it misses.
Rutten wants to clinch up but Rua keeps it at a distance. Rua feints a jab and as Rutten dips his head, Rua unleashes a brutal head kick that catches Rutten right on the jaw! Timbeeer! Rutten falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! Rua smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rutten displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Tie. Tie avoids a punch combination nicely.
Tie swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Rutten counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Tie doesn't succeed with the takedown and Rutten counters with a shoot takedown. Tie fights it but they end up in guard. Tie trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Rutten pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Tie is keeping the position for now. Tie preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Tie throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Rutten advances to half guard. Rutten is trying to work for a kimura but Tie is defending well.

That's one minute gone in the round. Rutten thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Tie's head. Rutten not doing much here.
Tie works his way to full guard. Good work. Rutten stops Tie from standing up. Rutten stands up from Tie's guard - Rutten perhaps looking for a knockout. Rutten misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Tie shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rutten but Rutten pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Tie. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tie swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Rutten trying to control the position from guard on top but Tie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Tie working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rutten doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rutten manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Tie doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Tie tries to land a sweep but no joy. Tie keeping moving, preventing Rutten from controlling successfully. Tie controls Rutten momentarily but Rutten frees himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tie is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Rutten won't allow Tie to sweep him here. Tie looking for a guillotine here but Rutten defends easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Tie trying to control the position.
Tie is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Rutten is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Matt Tie wasn't doing enough on the ground. A slow jab from Rutten misses its intended target. Tie moves to clinch but Rutten breaks away and Rutten counters with a three punch combo that has Tie backing up. Tie nods at Rutten to acknowledge the strikes. Tie gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Rutten connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Rutten connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Tie closes the distance and clinches up with Rutten, looking for a takedown. Tie pushes Rutten against the cage but Rutten circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Rutten fails with an attempt to clinch.
Tie thumps Rutten with a low kick. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bas Rutten dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Tie is defended easily by Rutten. Rutten looks to land a combination but Tie avoids it well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tie gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Rutten counters with a nice double leg into side control. Tie won't be happy with that. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Tie. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rutten has hold of Tie's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Tie tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Rutten cranks the arm and Tie screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Tie, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ferr cracks Rozalski with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Rozalski looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Ferr finish him?
It looks like Martin Rozalski has been cut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ferr looks to clinch and Rozalski counters with a thumping low kick. Rozalski fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Ferr stuffs the takedown attempt from Rozalski. Rozalski gets slowly back to his feet. Rozalski circles away from the clinch attempt and Rozalski counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Rozalski has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Ferr regains guard immediately. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ferr can't keep his opponent in guard - Rozalski advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Rozalski controlling the pace.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rozalski accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Rozalski gets to his feet. Ferr looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Ferr tries to clinch but Rozalski moves away and Rozalski counters with a takedown into side control. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Ferr. Rozalski sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Balls circles away from the clinch attempt and Balls cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Booker misses with a jab to the body
so Balls counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Booker is looking to stand up but Balls isn't so interested in that idea. Booker is trying to keep Balls in close.
Balls stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Booker swivels though and keeps the full guard. Booker might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Booker wants to sweep but no luck. Balls keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Booker's head. Booker working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Balls.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Elia closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Satosari quickly recovers to half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Elia looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That was a close round but I would say that Johan Elia will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Anti Satosari is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Elia tries for a takedown but Satosari sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Elia blocks the body kick.

Satosari connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Elia's hands. Satosari uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Elia. Elia lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
