The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grobokov shoots in for a takedown but Cena shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Cena bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Cena is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Cena tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Grobokov pushes Cena away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Cena gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Cena postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Cena is working to tighten is grip on Grobokov's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Grobokov has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Cena is really squeezing tight and eventually Grobokov passes out! Cena breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
