The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Preuss works over Marins's head and body with a nice combination.
It looks like Joaquin Marins has been cut. Preuss tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Marins manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Preuss closes the distance but Marins moves to the side and Marins counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Marins is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Marins scoring with some ground and pound. Marins throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Marins is in close to Preuss's body, working some short punches and elbows. Marins drops back looking for a leg! Preuss is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Preuss manages to kick Marins off! Marins jumps back into Preuss's guard. Marins being controlled here momentarily. Preuss is trying to control the position from the bottom.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Preuss can do anything to dispel that myth.

Marins might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Preuss utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Marins is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Marins landing some decent shots from guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Marins stands up over Preuss, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Preuss is rocked! Marins postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Preuss covers up, he's hurt! Marins keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Marins and the ref steps in to end the fight! Marins can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice cross by Paredes. Hernandez slips a straight right by Paredes. Hernandez tries to clinch and Paredes connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Hernandez tries to clinch but fails miserably and Paredes holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Hernandez wants to stall.

Paredes uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Hernandez has time to react. Paredes gets in close and instigates a clinch. Paredes's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Paredes throws a hook to the side of Hernandez's head but Hernandez sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Paredes has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Paredes is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paredes feints and as Hernandez raises his hands in defense, Paredes changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Paredes is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Sancho Paredes is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Hernandez is looking for a triangle but Paredes pushes his legs off easily.
Ramon Hernandez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Paredes looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Shurlt swings around for an armbar but Progbeniak sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Shurlt's guard. Aleksandr Progbeniak has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Shurlt preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
And that's the end of the fight! Odayr Shurlt showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Shurlt, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
