The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Balboa misses with a kick to the body

and Ranger counters with a nice double leg into side control. Balboa won't be happy with that.
Balboa sneaks back into half guard.
Balboa is looking to improve his position.
Balboa trying to control from the bottom.
Ranger looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Ranger prevents Balboa from improving his position.
Balboa is looking to control Ranger's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Balboa avoid being mounted?

Lito Balboa has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Ranger bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Ranger controls the position.
Balboa is trying to control Ranger's posture but Ranger avoids it.
Balboa manages to get back to half guard.

Balboa has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ranger can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Ranger stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Balboa swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Balboa looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ranger is one step ahead there.

Ranger has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Balboa uses from the top position.
Balboa wants to control from the top but Ranger keeps moving.
Ranger looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Balboa puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Ranger lands one or two decent shots to the body here. Although from his own half guard, he's not going to be causing too much damage.

Ranger will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Balboa is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Ranger has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Ilong Ranger just wasn't active enough.

Balboa tries to keep at a distance but Ranger has taken the fight into the clinch.

Ranger has picked Balboa up - he's going for a ride! Ranger dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Ranger is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Well, if Ranger is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Ranger's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Ranger is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
