5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Donald Duck! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Illya Tyunina and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed right hand from Medvedov misses the target. That kick from Duck tenderised Medvedov's leg. Medvedov is trying to keep his angry face on. Medvedov tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Duck paws at him with a jab and circles away. Medvedov manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Duck on his heels. He'll look to pass Duck's guard now, I'm sure. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Medvedov wants to control from the top but Duck keeps moving. Duck is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Medvedov content to stall in guard here. Duck is trying to control the position but Medvedov postures up. Medvedov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Duck on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Medvedov stops Duck from standing up. Medvedov trying to control the position from guard on top but Duck is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Duck has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Medvedov has passed into side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Medvedov is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Duck. Medvedov shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Duck defends it nicely. Medvedov throws out a loose jab but Duck uses good head movement to avoid it. Donald Duck is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Duck throws a leg kick but Medvedov sees it coming and checks it nicely. Duck avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Medvedov has a takedown stuffed. Medvedov shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Duck defends it nicely. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Karp Medvedov. That's going to take a lot out of him. Medvedov tries to clinch but fails miserably and Duck counters with a nice leg kick. Medvedov is looking to clinch. Medvedov has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Duck.

Duck has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Medvedov is working away from the top position though. Duck slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Medvedov tries to clinch up but Duck circles away and keeps his distance. Medvedov throws a right and a left that Duck avoids nicely. Medvedov drives through with a takedown into guard. Duck trying to keep a closed guard but Medvedov is proving a slippery customer.
Duck is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Medvedov has his hands clasped together but Duck extends an breaks Medvedov's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Duck.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fail tries to clinch up so Vitruk counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Fail looking for a sweep. Not yet Fail, not yet. Fail has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Vitruk can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Fail is looking for a triangle but Vitruk pushes his legs off easily.

I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Vitruk trying to control the position from guard on top but Fail is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Vitruk avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Fail tries to land a sweep but no joy. Vitruk has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Vitruk content to stall in guard here. Vitruk stands up from Fail's guard - Vitruk perhaps looking for a knockout. Vitruk shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Fail napping and manages to drive through into side control! This has been an exciting period of action! Fail takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Fail is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Vitruk's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Fail tries to roll over but Vitruk keeps him under control. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Fail is breathing heavily. Vitruk moves into full mount! Fail won't be happy about that! Slava Vitruk dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Vitruk tries to score a power double leg takedown but Fail sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Vitruk somewhat. Vitruk fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Fail with a poor takedown and Vitruk counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Fail's guard now. Vitruk passes into half guard under a barage of strikes. Fail wants to get back to full guard. Fail missing with punches from the bottom.
Fail looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Vitruk pushes past his half guard into mount! Vitruk lands a heavy elbow. Vitruk fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Vitruk is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Fail can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Fail is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Vitruk looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Vitruk scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Fail tries to reverse the position but Vitruk maintains control. Fail is working hard here to advance position. Fail slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Vitruk wants to control but Fail is keeping him busy. Vitruk is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Vitruk decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Fail misses with a straight right. Vitruk is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Vitruk decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Vitruk closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Fail's guard. Fail throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Vitruk controls from within his opponent's guard. He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Fail, into his guard. Vitruk slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Vitruk has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Fail is working to avoid the ground and pound but Vitruk connects with a decent elbow. Fail is looking for a sweep.

Vitruk keeps the fight on the outside. The fight stays on the outside here - Fail looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Fail wants to clinch and Vitruk counters with a shoot takedown. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Fail has an active guard here but Vitruk has managed to pass into half guard.

and Vitruk counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
And that's the end of the fight! Slava Vitruk comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Vitruk winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith wants to clinch. Smith tries to clinch up. Smith is looking to clinch but Hughes is avoiding it.
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch but Hughes swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Hughes avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Corrado Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Hughes. Hughes has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard.
