Matt Smith had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 172.3lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. The key to victory for Matt Smith has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith pushes Willams up against the cage in a clinch.

Willams turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Willams goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Smith rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Willams's guard! Nice work there by Smith!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Willams has Smith pulled in close to control his posture.

Willams is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Smith is aware though and is defending well.
Smith will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Willams pushes Smith off and scrambles back to his feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Willams drops back looking for a leg! Smith is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Smith manages to kick Willams off! Willams jumps back into Smith's guard.

Smith is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Willams lets go of the hold and Smith can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ondahl looks up at the clock and then as Smalls takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Ondahl smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Smalls is still in real trouble! Can Ondahl finish him?
A big shot lands for Ondahl! That's hurt Smalls! Will he recover? Ondahl fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!

Millichip looks to land a combination but White avoids it well.

White dives in and scores a takedown into Millichip's guard.

White fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Millichip avoids it really well and circles away.

White tightens his grip and picks Millichip up, before dumping him to the ground. Millichip manages to land in guard.

Millichip tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but White paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Millichip ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
White takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Millichip scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
White on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Millichip misses with a jab, cross combination.
White motions for Millichip to come forward. White throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

White throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
White seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

White uses his free foot to push down on Millichip's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Millichip.

White pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Almanez has hold of Erectus's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Erectus tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Almanez cranks the arm and Erectus screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Erectus, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Gama lands a left and a right that send Burkholder crashing to the mat, dazed. Gama thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

and Gama counters with a nice right hand that sends Burkholder toppling to the canvas! Burkholder scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Gama finish him?!

and Gama counters with a right hand to the body.

Gama connects with a nice cross there... Burkholder is looking wobbly and Gama recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Burkholder to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Gama jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kramer working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Griffin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Griffin manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Griffin is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Griffin batters Kramer with a massive right followed by a huge left! Kramer is out on his feet looking like a zombie as Griffin lands a final crushing right hand to drop Kramer to the mat with a gruesome thud! Griffin is running around like a mad man after that fight and for good reason!
