Foxx has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Kong is really squeezing tight and eventually Foxx passes out! Kong breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

and Bin Laden counters with a series of strikes. Friendish will be more careful next time no doubt.
Friendish takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Friendish just misses with a punch to the body.
Friendish tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Bin Laden manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Friendish falls off balance throwing a combination
and Friendish takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Nice straight punches there by Bin Laden. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Bin Laden.

Friendish bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Friendish takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Frank Friendish seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Friendish is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Bin Laden lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Friendish circles away quickly and effectively.
Bin Laden lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

and Bin Laden counters with a three punch combo that has Friendish backing up. Friendish nods at Bin Laden to acknowledge the strikes.
Bin Laden throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Friendish colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Bin Laden as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Friendish is left battered and dazed whilst Bin Laden and his camp cheer!

Cruz misses with a hook to the body
and Jarvae counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Cruz misses with a lunging right hand
and Jarvae counters with an inside leg kick.
Cruz swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Jarvae makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Cruz really felt that one!
Cruz throws a right and a left that Jarvae avoids nicely.
Jarvae pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Cruz misses with a left hand
and Jarvae counters with an inside leg kick.
Cruz blocks a low kick nicely.
Cruz misses with a left hand

and Jarvae counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Cruz!
Jarvae lands with some strikes.
Poor strikes thrown by Jarvae there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jarvae goes for an armbar but Cruz turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Cruz.
Cruz won't allow Jarvae to sweep him here.

Cruz is looking to work some ground and pound but Jarvae has wrist control.
Jarvae tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Cruz got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jarvae has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cruz has managed to get both his arms back between Jarvae's legs - danger averted.

Cruz throwing strikes from guard but Jarvae blocks nicely.
Cruz postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Jarvae looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jarvae is looking to sinch up a triangle. Cruz throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Jarvae's body to avoid the submission. Jarvae has instead reached around Cruz's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Jarvae arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Jealous Jarvae!
