The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Johnson takes the fight into the clinch.
Newking is trying to push Johnson away but Johnson has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Johnson tries to stall but Newking uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Johnson has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Newking avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Johnson is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Newking is keeping busy.
Newking takes a shot to the head.

It looks like Sam Newking has been cut.
Newking wants to get back to striking at distance but Johnson won't allow it.
Newking tries to break free but Johnson pushes him back against the cage.

Johnson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Newking is just riding it out for now. Johnson eventually gives up the hold.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Johnson stops Newking from getting back to his feet.

Johnson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Newking doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Johnson.
Newking is pressing down on Johnson's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Newking bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Johnson's guard.
Newking stands and throws Johnson's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Newking is putting a hurting on Johnson here, landing some big shots from side control.

Johnson walks straight into a right hand from Newking - that's dropped him! Newking jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Johnson from any more punishment! Johnson complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
